Strength Distributions and Symmetry Breaking in Coupled Microwave Billiards
TL;DR: This work coupling two flat microwave cavities using a qualitative model based on random matrix theory shows that the results derived from the strength distribution are consistent with those previously obtained from spectral statistics.
Journal ArticleDOI
Isospin forbidden electroexcitation of the 1−, T = 0 state at 6.95 MeV in 40Ca, continuum shell-model and effective charge of the convection current☆
TL;DR: In this article, the isospin forbidden electroexcitation of the 1 −, T = 0 state at 6.95 MeV in 40 Ca has been investigated for momentum transfers q = (0.18 − 0.51) fm −1.
Journal ArticleDOI
Depopulation of 180 Ta m by Coulomb excitation and possible astrophysical consequences
C. Schlegel,P. von Neumann-Cosel,F. Neumeyer,Achim Richter,S. Strauch,J. de Boer,C.H. Dasso,R. J. Peterson +7 more
TL;DR: The depopulation of [Sup 180]Ta by Coulomb excitation was investigated in a thick-target experiment using beams of [sup 32]S and [sup 36]S with energies of 70--130 MeV on disks of natural tantalum to find the ground-state population was measured by detecting its eight-hour decay.
Journal ArticleDOI
Fine structure of the giant isoscalar quadrupole resonance in 208 Pb observed in high-resolution (e,e') and (p,p') experiments
Sergei Kamerdzhiev,J. Lisantti,P. von Neumann-Cosel,Achim Richter,G. Tertychny,Jochen Wambach,Jochen Wambach +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, high-resolution spectra for the isoscalar giant quadrupole resonance in {sup 208}Pb were presented and the fine structure that has been observed hitherto in (e,e{sup {prime}}) is now also seen in (p,p{sup, prime}) and found to be very similar in both experiments.
Journal ArticleDOI
He-6 and neutron momentum distributions from He-8 in nuclear break-up reactions at 240 MeV/u

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors measured the momentum distributions of He-8 break-up reactions in a C target and found that the two-neutron removal cross section was sigma(-2n) = 0.27 +/- 0.03 b.
