Thrombectomy 6 to 24 Hours after Stroke with a Mismatch between Deficit and Infarct.
Raul G Nogueira,Ashutosh P Jadhav,Diogo C Haussen,Alain Bonafe,Ronald F. Budzik,Parita Bhuva,Dileep R. Yavagal,Marc Ribo,Christophe Cognard,Ricardo A. Hanel,Cathy A. Sila,Ameer E Hassan,Mónica Millán,Elad I. Levy,Peter Mitchell,Michael Chen,Joey English,Qaisar A. Shah,Frank L. Silver,Vitor Mendes Pereira,Brijesh P Mehta,Blaise Baxter,Michael G. Abraham,Pedro Cardona,Erol Veznedaroglu,Frank R Hellinger,Lei Feng,Jawad F. Kirmani,Demetrius K. Lopes,Brian T. Jankowitz,Michael Frankel,Vincent Costalat,Nirav Vora,Albert J Yoo,Amer M. Malik,Anthony J. Furlan,Marta Rubiera,Amin Aghaebrahim,Jean-Marc Olivot,Wondwossen G Tekle,Ryan K. Shields,Todd Graves,Roger J. Lewis,Wade S. Smith,David S Liebeskind,Jeffrey L. Saver,Tudor G Jovin +46 more
TL;DR: Among patients with acute stroke who had last been known to be well 6 to 24 hours earlier and who had a mismatch between clinical deficit and infarct, outcomes for disability at 90 days were better with thrombectomy plus standard care than with standard care alone.
Journal ArticleDOI
A Trial of Imaging Selection and Endovascular Treatment for Ischemic Stroke
Chelsea S. Kidwell,Reza Jahan,Jeffrey Gornbein,Jeffry R. Alger,Val Nenov,Zahra Ajani,Lei Feng,Brett C. Meyer,Scott E Olson,Scott E Olson,Lee H. Schwamm,Albert J Yoo,Randolph S. Marshall,Philip M. Meyers,Dileep R. Yavagal,Max Wintermark,Judy Guzy,Sidney Starkman,Jeffrey L. Saver +18 more
TL;DR: A favorable penumbral pattern on neuroimaging did not identify patients who would differentially benefit from endovascular therapy for acute ischemic stroke, nor was embolectomy shown to be superior to standard care.
Journal ArticleDOI
Recommendations on Angiographic Revascularization Grading Standards for Acute Ischemic Stroke A Consensus Statement
Osama O. Zaidat,Albert J Yoo,Pooja Khatri,Thomas A. Tomsick,Rüdiger von Kummer,Jeffrey L. Saver,Michael P. Marks,Shyam Prabhakaran,David F. Kallmes,Brian-Fred Fitzsimmons,J Mocco,Joanna M. TL;DR: A multidisciplinary panel of neurointerventionalists, neuroradiologists, and stroke neurologists with extensive experience in neuroimaging and IAT, convened at the “Consensus Meeting on Revascularization Grading Following Endovascular Therapy” with the goal of addressing heterogeneity in cerebral angiographic revascularization grading.
Journal ArticleDOI
CT angiography of pulmonary embolism: diagnostic criteria and causes of misdiagnosis.
Conrad Wittram,Michael M. Maher,Albert J Yoo,Mannudeep K. Kalra,Jo-Anne O. Shepard,Theresa C. McLoud +5 more
TL;DR: The radiologist needs to determine the quality of a CT pulmonary angiographic study and whether pulmonary embolism is present, and which pulmonary arteries have been rendered indeterminate and whether additional imaging is necessary.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Pattern of Leptomeningeal Collaterals on CT Angiography Is a Strong Predictor of Long-Term Functional Outcome in Stroke Patients With Large Vessel Intracranial Occlusion
Fabricio O Lima,Karen L. Furie,Gisele Sampaio Silva,Michael H. Lev,Erica C.S. Camargo,Aneesh B. Singhal,Gordon J. Harris,Elkan F. Halpern,Walter J. Koroshetz,Wade S. Smith,Albert J Yoo,Raul G Nogueira +11 more
TL;DR: Consistent with angiographic studies, leptomeningeal collaterals on CT angiography are also a reliable marker of good outcome in ischemic stroke.
