Journal ArticleDOI

Defective fluid shear stress mechanotransduction mediates hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia

TL;DR: It is reported that fluid flow potentiates BMP activation of Alk1 signaling to stabilize blood vessels and HHT lesions result from a defect in a synergistic mechanical/biochemical signaling pathway.
Journal ArticleDOI

Slit2 signaling through Robo1 and Robo2 is required for retinal neovascularization.

TL;DR: Conditional knockout mice deficient in various Slit and Robo proteins are generated and it is found that Slit2 potently and selectively promoted angiogenesis via Robo1 and Robo2 in mouse postnatal retina and in a model of ocular neovascular disease.
