Giant magnetodrag in graphene at charge neutrality
Mikhail Titov,Roman V. Gorbachev,Boris Narozhny,T. Tudorovskiy,Michael Schütt,P. M. Ostrovsky,P. M. Ostrovsky,P. M. Ostrovsky,Igor V. Gornyi,Alexander D. Mirlin,Alexander D. Mirlin,Mikhail I. Katsnelson,K. S. Novoselov,Andre K. Geim,Leonid Ponomarenko +14 more
TL;DR: Experimental data and theoretical analysis of Coulomb drag between two closely positioned graphene monolayers in a weak magnetic field show the coexistence of electrons and holes in each layer leads to a dramatic increase of the drag resistivity away from charge neutrality.
Journal ArticleDOI
Stacking boundaries and transport in bilayer graphene
Pablo San-Jose,Roman V. Gorbachev,Andre K. Geim,Kostya S. Novoselov,Francisco Guinea,Francisco Guinea +5 more
TL;DR: It is argued, using a numerical analysis, that the hallmark features of the previously inferred many-body insulating state can be explained by scattering on boundaries between domains with different stacking order (AB and BA).
Journal ArticleDOI
High thermal conductivity of hexagonal boron nitride laminates
Jin-Cheng Zheng,Liang Zhang,Andrey V. Kretinin,Sergey V. Morozov,Sergey V. Morozov,Yi Bo Wang,Tun Wang,Li Xiaojun,Fei Ren,Jingyu Zhang,Ching-Yu Lu,Jia-Cing Chen,Miao Lu,Hui-Qiong Wang,Andre K. Geim,Konstantin S. Novoselov +15 more
TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that laminates of hexagonal boron nitride (hBN) exhibit thermal conductivity of up to 20 W/mK, which is significantly larger than that currently used in thermal management.
Uniaxial strain in graphene by Raman spectroscopy: G peak splitting, Grüneisen parameters, and sample orientation
T. M. G. Mohiuddin,Antonio Lombardo,Rahul R. Nair,A. Bonetti,Giorgio Savini,Rashid Jalil,Nicola Bonini,Denis M. Basko,Costas Galiotis,Nicola Marzari,Kostya S. Novoselov,Andre K. Geim,Andrea C. Ferrari +12 more
TL;DR: In this article, the constitutive relation of graphene and probe the physics of its optical phonons by studying its Raman spectrum as a function of uniaxial strain was uncovered.
Journal ArticleDOI
Formation of Monolayer Graphene by Annealing Sacrificial Nickel Thin Films
Andrew J. Pollard,Rahul R. Nair,S. N. Sabki,C. R. Staddon,Luís M. A. Perdigão,C. H. Hsu,Jason M. Garfitt,Subhashis Gangopadhyay,Helen F. Gleeson,Andre K. Geim,Peter H. Beton +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the Ni thin films are deposited on Si/SiO2 and, following annealing, have a polycrystalline morphology with grain sizes on the order of 1 μm.
