Interfacial ferroelectricity in marginally twisted 2D semiconductors
Astrid Weston,Eli Castanon,V. V. Enaldiev,Fabio Ferreira,Shubhadeep Bhattacharjee,Shuigang Xu,Héctor Corte-León,Zefei Wu,Nick Clark,Alex Summerfield,Teruo Hashimoto,Yunze Gao,Wendong Wang,Matthew J. Hamer,Harriet Read,Laura Fumagalli,Andrey V. Kretinin,Sarah J. Haigh,Olga Kazakova,Andre K. Geim,Vladimir I. Fal'ko,Roman V. Gorbachev +21 more
TL;DR: In this article, a room-temperature ferroelectric semiconductor that is assembled using mono- or few-layer MoS2 is presented. But the results show a potential venue towards room temperature electronic and optoelectronic semiconductor devices with built-in Ferroelectric memory functions.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Indirect excitons in van der Waals heterostructures at room temperature
TL;DR: Indirect excitons (IXs) were observed at room temperature in a van der Waals MoS 2 /hBN heterostructure in this paper, where IX energy is controllable by voltage.
Journal ArticleDOI
Enhancement of spin-dependent hole delocalization in degenerate asymmetric double quantum wells
Martijn Kemerink,PM Paul Koenraad,Pcm Christianen,Andre K. Geim,J.C. Maan,JH Joachim Wolter,Mohamed Henini +6 more
TL;DR: It is shown that the SDHD of the heavy-holt: states can be enhanced by increasing the confinement of the Light-hole states through adjustment of the height of the confining barriers.
Journal ArticleDOI
Magneto-optical study of correlated electron-hole layers in single-barrier heterostructures
TL;DR: In this paper, a single-barrier GaAs/AlAs/GaAs p-i-n heterostructure with applied magnetic fields of up to 17 T was investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Limits on gas impermeability of graphene.
Pengzhan Sun,Q. Yang,Wenjun Kuang,Y. V. Stebunov,Wenqi Xiong,Jin Yu,Rahul R. Nair,Mikhail I. Katsnelson,Shengjun Yuan,Shengjun Yuan,Irina V. Grigorieva,M. Lozada-Hidalgo,FengChao Wang,FengChao Wang,Andre K. Geim +14 more
TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that defect-free graphene is impermeable to all gases and liquids, even though it is only one-atom thick, despite being only one atom thick.
