Journal ArticleDOI

Microglia activation in recent-onset schizophrenia: a quantitative (R)-[11C]PK11195 positron emission tomography study

TL;DR: Activated microglia are present in schizophrenia patients within the first 5 years of disease onset, which suggests that, in this period, neuronal injury is present and that neuronal damage may be involved in the loss of gray matter associated with this disease.
Journal ArticleDOI

Prevalence of amyloid PET positivity in dementia syndromes: a meta-analysis.

Rik Ossenkoppele, +55 more
- 19 May 2015 -
TL;DR: Findings indicate the potential clinical utility of amyloid imaging for differential diagnosis in early-onset dementia and to support the clinical diagnosis of participants with AD dementia and noncarrier APOE ε4 status.
Journal ArticleDOI

Delta 9-tetrahydrocannabinol induces dopamine release in the human striatum.

TL;DR: It is shown that Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the main psychoactive component in cannabis, induces dopamine release in the human striatum, implying that the endogenous cannabinoid system is involved in regulating striatal dopamine release.
Journal ArticleDOI

Resting-state fMRI changes in Alzheimer's disease and mild cognitive impairment.
