Journal ArticleDOI
Vanadium(V) complexes with salicylaldehyde semicarbazone derivatives bearing in vitro anti-tumor activity toward kidney tumor cells (TK-10): crystal structure of [VVO2(5-bromosalicylaldehyde semicarbazone)].
Pabla Noblía,Marisol Vieites,Beatriz S. Parajón-Costa,E. J. Baran,Hugo Cerecetto,Patricia Draper,Mercedes González,Oscar E. Piro,Eduardo E. Castellano,Amaia Azqueta,Adela López de Cerain,Antonio Monge-Vega,Dinorah Gambino +12 more
TL;DR: Results showed that structural modifications on the semicarbazone moiety could have a significant effect on the anti-tumor activity of the vanadium complexes, and no apparent correlation could be demonstrated between reduction potentials of the complexes and their anti-Tumor activities.
Journal ArticleDOI
Synthesis, crystal structure and spectroscopic characterization of a novel bis (oxo-bridged) dinuclear vanadium(V)-dipicolinic acid complex
TL;DR: The binuclear vanadium vanadium (V) compound was determined by X-ray diffraction methods as mentioned in this paper, and the structure of the vanadium compound was analyzed using the infrared and Raman spectra.
Journal ArticleDOI
Potent in vitro anti-Trypanosoma cruzi activity of pyridine-2-thiol N-oxide metal complexes having an inhibitory effect on parasite-specific fumarate reductase.
Marisol Vieites,Pablo Smircich,Beatriz S. Parajón-Costa,Jorge Rodríguez,Verónica Galaz,Claudio Olea-Azar,Lucía Otero,Gabriela Aguirre,Hugo Cerecetto,Mercedes González,Alicia Gómez-Barrio,Beatriz Garat,Dinorah Gambino +12 more
TL;DR: The data strongly suggest that trypanocidal action of the complexes could mainly rely on the inhibition of the parasite-specific enzyme NADH-fumarate reductase.
Journal ArticleDOI
Risedronate metal complexes potentially active against Chagas disease
Bruno Demoro,Francesco Caruso,Miriam Rossi,Diego Benítez,Mercedes González,Hugo Cerecetto,Beatriz S. Parajón-Costa,Jorge Castiglioni,Melina Galizzi,Roberto Docampo,Lucía Otero,Dinorah Gambino +11 more
TL;DR: Results demonstrated that the coordination of risedronate to different metal ions improved the antiproliferative effect against T. cruzi, exhibiting growth inhibition values against the intracellular amastigotes ranging the low micromolar levels.
Journal ArticleDOI
Crystal structures, theoretical calculations, spectroscopic and electrochemical properties of Cr(III) complexes with dipicolinic acid and 1,10-phenantroline
TL;DR: The crystal structures of Na[Cr(dipic)2]· 2H2O (1) and [Cr(Dipic)(phen)Cl]· 1/2H 2O (2), dipic=dipicolinate, phen = 1,10-phenantroline, were determined.
