Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of the Solvent on the Conformation of a Depsipeptide: NMR‐Derived Solution Structure of Hormaomycin in DMSO from Residual Dipolar Couplings in a Novel DMSO‐Compatible Alignment Medium

TL;DR: Measurement of residual dipolar couplings induced by dissolving the depsipeptide in a polyacrylamide gel compatible with DMSO and their incorporation into the structure calculation of the title compound improved the precision of the family of structures.
Journal ArticleDOI

11 C Radiolabeling of anle253b: a Putative PET Tracer for Parkinson's Disease That Binds to α-Synuclein Fibrils in vitro and Crosses the Blood-Brain Barrier.

TL;DR: High‐affinity binding of the family member anle253b to fibrillar αSyn is demonstrated and a high‐yielding site‐selective radiosynthesis route for 11C radiolabeling using in‐situ generated [11C]formaldehyde and reductive methylation is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of pharmacological modulators of α-synuclein and tau aggregation and internalization

TL;DR: The effects of different pharmacological interventions on the aggregation and internalization of tau and aSyn are assessed and it is found that anle138b and fulvic acid decrease aSyn and tau aggregation, that epigallocatechin gallate decreases aSyn aggregation, and that dynasore reduces tau internalization.
Journal ArticleDOI

Structure, gating and interactions of the voltage-dependent anion channel

TL;DR: The sensitivity of VDAC structure to variations in the membrane environment is explored, comparing DMPC-only, DMPC with cholesterol, and near-native lipid compositions, and using magic-angle spinning NMR spectroscopy to locate cholesterol on the outside of the β-barrel.
