TL;DR: Two standards developed by the Genomic Standards Consortium (GSC) for reporting bacterial and archaeal genome sequences are presented, including the Minimum Information about a Single Amplified Genome (MISAG) and the Minimum information about a Metagenome-Assembled Genomes (MIMAG), including estimates of genome completeness and contamination.
Journal ArticleDOI
An arsenic-specific biosensor with genetically engineered Shewanella oneidensis in a bioelectrochemical system
Dylan P. Webster,Michaela A. TerAvest,Devin F. R. Doud,Arun Chakravorty,Eric C. Holmes,Caleb M. Radens,Swati Sureka,Jeffrey A. Gralnick,Largus T. Angenent +8 more
TL;DR: A BES-based biosensor with genetically encoded specificity for a toxic metal by placing an essential component of the metal reduction pathway of Shewanella oneidensis under the control of an arsenic-sensitive promoter is described.
Journal ArticleDOI
The trajectory of microbial single-cell sequencing
TL;DR: This review highlights newly added leaves and branches in the genomic tree of bacterial and archaeal life and illustrates the unique and exciting advantages that single-cell genomics offers over metagenomics, both now and in the near future.
Journal ArticleDOI
Quantitative correlation of absolute hydroxyl radical rate constants with non-isolated effluent organic matter bulk properties in water
TL;DR: The obtained data were used to model steady state *OH concentrations during UV advanced oxidation, indicating that accurate measurement of reaction rate constants at specific sites would greatly improve the design and prediction of the removal of organic contaminants.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: This research presents a new probabilistic approach to estimating the response of the immune system to EMTs using a simple, straightforward, and scalable approach called “spot-spot analysis”.
