Journal ArticleDOI

Recurrent Vulvovaginal Candidiasis: An Immunological Perspective.

TL;DR: An overview of the current understanding of the host immune response in VVC pathogenesis is provided and it is suggested that a tightly regulated fungus–host–microbiota interplay might exert a protective role against recurrent Candida infections.
Journal ArticleDOI

Invasive pulmonary aspergillosis associated with viral pneumonitis.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors discuss several aspects regarding IAPA and CAPA, including their possible pathogenesis, the use of immunotherapy, and future challenges, as well as future challenges.
Journal ArticleDOI

In vitro induction of trained immunity in adherent human monocytes.

TL;DR: In this article, a protocol to recapitulate this in vitro using adherent monocytes from consecutive isolation of peripheral blood mononuclear cells is presented, and the induction of trained immunity and associated functional reprogramming of monocytes is described in detail using β-glucan (from Candida albicans) and Bacillus Calmette-Guerin as examples.
