Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of nature and location of defects on bandgap narrowing in black TiO2 nanoparticles.

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that black TiO(2) nanoparticles obtained through a one-step reduction/crystallization process exhibit a bandgap of only 1.85 eV, which matches well with visible light absorption.
Journal ArticleDOI

ε-Ga 2 O 3 epilayers as a material for solar-blind UV photodetectors

TL;DR: In this article, the electrical and optical properties of undoped single-phase e-Ga2O3 epitaxial films prepared by MOCVD are reported, and it is shown that this still unexplored polymorph of gallium oxide possesses wide bandgap and very high dark resistivity, thus allowing the design and fabrication of solar-blind UV photodetectors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Porphyrin conjugated SiC/SiOx nanowires for X-ray-excited photodynamic therapy.

TL;DR: This nanosystem based on cytocompatible inorganic SiC/SiOx core/shell nanowires conjugated via click-chemistry procedures with an organic photosensitizer, a tetracarboxyphenyl porphyrin derivative is presented, demonstrating that this approach is very efficient to enhance radiation therapy effects for cancer treatments.
