Journal ArticleDOI

Transport of anionic azo dyes from aqueous solution to gemini surfactant-modified wheat bran: Synchrotron infrared, molecular interaction and adsorption studies.

TL;DR: The potential of modified wheat bran as a suitable adsorbent for the removal of dyes from wastewater was presented, and new insight was gained into the modification mechanism through synchrotron-assisted infrared analysis and molecular interaction simulation.
Journal ArticleDOI

A hybrid fuzzy-stochastic programming method for water trading within an agricultural system

TL;DR: In this paper, a hybrid fuzzy-stochastic programming method is developed for planning water trading under uncertainties of randomness and fuzziness, which can deal with recourse water allocation problems generated by randomness in water availability and tackle uncertainties expressed as fuzzy sets in the trading system.
Journal ArticleDOI

Stepwise adsorption of phenanthrene at the fly ash-water interface as affected by solution chemistry: experimental and modeling studies.

TL;DR: Results of this study can help reveal the migration patterns of organic contaminants in the FA-water system and facilitate environmental risk assessment at FA disposal sites.
Journal ArticleDOI

Use of potassium dihydrogen phosphate and sawdust as adsorbents of ammoniacal nitrogen in aerobic composting process.

TL;DR: Three kinds of adsorbents-potassium dihydrogen phosphate, sawdust and mixture of potassium diHydrogen phosphate and sawdust were added respectively into composting to investigate their adsorption effect on ammonia, and the experimental results showed that all the adsorbent could restrain ammonia volatilizing.
Journal ArticleDOI

Evaluation of remedial options for a benzene-contaminated site through a simulation-based fuzzy-MCDA approach.

TL;DR: The results demonstrates that the proposed SFMCDA method can help systematically analyze fuzzy inputs from contaminant transport modeling, cost implications and stakeholders' preferences, and provide useful ranking information covering a variety of decision-relevant remediation options for decision makers.
