Inferring the mass of submillimetre galaxies by exploiting their gravitational magnification of background galaxies
Hendrik Hildebrandt,L. van Waerbeke,Douglas Scott,Matthieu Béthermin,Matthieu Béthermin,J. J. Bock,J. J. Bock,David L. Clements,A. Conley,Asantha Cooray,Asantha Cooray,James Dunlop,Stephen Anthony Eales,Thomas Erben,Duncan Farrah,Alberto Franceschini,Jason Glenn,Mark Halpern,Sebastien Heinis,Rob Ivison,Rob Ivison,G. Marsden,S. TL;DR: In this paper, the average mass and dust content of sub-millimetre galaxies with 250μm flux densities of S_250 > 15μm were determined using data from the Herschel Multi-tiered Extragalactic Survey.
Journal ArticleDOI

Pereira,Barnaby Rowe,Barnaby Rowe,Tim Schrabback,Tim Schrabback,Masaomi Tanaka,Malin Velander,Malin Velander +35 more
TL;DR: In this paper, weak lensing and X-ray analysis of 12 low-mass clusters from the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope Lensing Survey and XMM-CFHTLS surveys is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cluster magnification and the mass–richness relation in CFHTLenS
Jessica Ford,Hendrik Hildebrandt,Ludovic Van Waerbeke,Thomas Erben,C. Laigle,C. Laigle,C. Laigle,Martha Milkeraitis,Christopher B. Morrison +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors fit composite-NFW models to the ensemble, accounting for cluster miscentering, source-lens redshift overlap, as well as nearby structure (the 2-halo term), and recover mass estimates of the cluster dark matter halos in range of ~10^13 M_sun to 2*10^14 M_Sun.
Journal ArticleDOI
On the complementarity of galaxy clustering with cosmic shear and flux magnification
TL;DR: In this article, the use of galaxy clustering measurements using photometric redshift information, including a contribution from flux magnification, as a probe of cosmology is presented, and the authors present cosmological forecasts when clustering data alone is used, and when the clustering is combined with a cosmic shear analysis.
Journal ArticleDOI
KiDS+2dFLenS+GAMA: testing the cosmological model with the EG statistic
Alexandra Amon,Chris Blake,Catherine Heymans,C. D. Leonard,Marika Asgari,Maciej Bilicki,A. Choi,Thomas Erben,Karl Glazebrook,Joachim Harnois-Déraps,Hendrik Hildebrandt,Henk Hoekstra,Benjamin Joachimi,Shahab Joudaki,Konrad Kuijken,C. Lidman,Jon Loveday,David Parkinson,David Parkinson,Edwin A. Valentijn,Christian Wolf +20 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a new measurement of EG, which combines measurements of weak gravitational lensing, galaxy clustering, and redshift-space distortions, and find that their measurements, as well as existing ones in the literature, favor a lower matter density cosmology than the cosmic microwave background.
