Increased Growth Differentiation Factor 15 Is Associated with Unfavorable Clinical Outcomes of Acute Ischemic Stroke
Jieyun Yin,Zhengbao Zhu,Daoxia Guo,Aili Wang,Nimei Zeng,Xiaowei Zheng,Yanbo Peng,Chongke Zhong,Guangli Wang,Yiting Zhou,Chung-Shiuan Chen,Jing Chen,Yonghong Zhang,Jiang He +13 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that baseline serum GDF-15 could provide additional information to identify ischemic stroke patients at high risk of poor prognosis and the addition of G DF-15 to established risk factors improved risk prediction of the composite outcome of death and major disability.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of Intensive Blood Pressure Control on Aortic Stiffness in the SPRINT-HEART
Bharathi Upadhya,Nicholas M. Pajewski,Michael V. Rocco,W. Gregory Hundley,Gerard P. Aurigemma,Craig A. Hamilton,Jeffrey T. Bates,Jiang He,Jing Chen,Michel Chonchol,Steve P Glasser,Adriana M. Hung,Roberto Pisoni,Henry Punzi,Mark A. Supiano,Robert D. Toto,Addison A. Taylor,Dalane W. Kitzman +17 more
Journal ArticleDOI
Associations Between Cardiac Biomarkers and Cardiac Structure and Function in CKD.
Nathan R. Stein,Leila R. Zelnick,Amanda H. Anderson,Robert H. Christenson,Christopher DeFilippi,Rajat Deo,Alan S. Go,Jiang He,Bonnie Ky,James P. Lash,Stephen L. Seliger,Elsayed Z. Soliman,Michael G. Shlipak,Nisha Bansal,Cric Study Investigators +14 more
TL;DR: In patients with CKD, the novel biomarker GDF-15, a marker of inflammation and tissue injury, and clinical biomarkers NT-proBNP and hsTnT, were associated with echocardiographic measurements of subclinical cardiovascular disease, suggesting these biomarkers may highlight biological pathways that contribute to the development of clinical HF.
Journal ArticleDOI
Novel Metabolites Are Associated With Augmentation Index and Pulse Wave Velocity: Findings From the Bogalusa Heart Study.
Changwei Li,Changwei Li,Jiang He,Shengxu Li,Wei Chen,Lydia A. Bazzano,Xiao Sun,Luqi Shen,Lirong Liang,Ye Shen,Xiaoying Gu,Tanika N. Kelly +11 more
TL;DR: This study has identified novel and important metabolites and metabolic networks associated with arterial stiffness and identified 2 modules associated with both AI and PWV.
Journal ArticleDOI
Serial Fibroblast Growth Factor 23 Measurements and Risk of Requirement for Kidney Replacement Therapy: The CRIC (Chronic Renal Insufficiency Cohort) Study
Rupal Mehta,Rupal Mehta,Xuan Cai,Jongmin Lee,Dawei Xie,Xue Wang,Julia J. Scialla,Amanda H. Anderson,Jon Taliercio,Mirela Dobre,Jing Chen,Michael J. Fischer,Michael J. Fischer,Mary B. Leonard,James P. Lash,Chi-yuan Hsu,Ian H. de Boer,Harold I. Feldman,Myles Wolf,Tamara Isakova,Lawrence J. Appel,Alan S. Go,Jiang He,Panduranga S. Rao,Mahboob Rahman,Raymond R. Townsend +25 more
TL;DR: Increasing FGF-23 levels are independently associated with increased risk for incident KRT, and membership in the slowly and rapidly increasing F GF-23 trajectory groups was associated with ∼3- and ∼21-fold higher risk for incidents.
