Interleukin-22 Inhibits Respiratory Syncytial Virus Production by Blocking Virus-Mediated Subversion of Cellular Autophagy
Sudipta Das,Claudette M. St. Croix,Misty Good,Jie Chen,Jinming Zhao,Sanmei Hu,Mark A. Ross,Michael M. Myerburg,Joseph M. Pilewski,John V. Williams,Sally E. Wenzel,Jay K. Kolls,Anuradha Ray,Prabir Ray +13 more
TL;DR: A previously unrecognized anti-viral effect of IL-22 that can be harnessed to prevent RSV-induced severe respiratory disease is informed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Donor-specific antibody characteristics, including persistence and complement-binding capacity, increase risk for chronic lung allograft dysfunction
Carlo J. Iasella,Christopher R. Ensor,Marilyn Marrari,Massimo Mangiola,Qingyong Xu,Eric P. Nolley,Cody A. Moore,Matthew R. Morrell,Joseph M. Pilewski,Pablo G. Sanchez,John F. McDyer,Adriana Zeevi +11 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that DSA characteristics of persistence, HLA-DQ specificity, and C1q+ DSAs are associated with shorter time to CLAD, andC1q+, HLA -DQ-specific, and multiple DSAs is associated with decreased CLAD-free survival.
Journal ArticleDOI
Clinical predictors of cystic fibrosis chronic rhinosinusitis severity.
Anna C. Zemke,Seyed Mehdi Nouraie,John A. Moore,Jordan R. Gaston,Nicholas R. Rowan,Joseph M. Pilewski,Jennifer M. Bomberger,Stella E. Lee +7 more
TL;DR: The goal of the study was to determine clinical variables that correlate with outcome measures of disease severity.
Journal ArticleDOI
Nature and correlates of post-traumatic stress symptomatology in lung transplant recipients
Cynthia J. Gries,Mary Amanda Dew,J. Randall Curtis,Jeffrey D. Edelman,Annette DeVito Dabbs,Joseph M. Pilewski,Christopher H. Goss,Michael S. Mulligan,Douglas B. White +8 more
TL;DR: Overall prevalence of PTSD in lung transplant recipients in this study was two times higher than the general population and patient characteristics found to be associated with an increased burden of PTSD symptoms may be useful to consider in future interventions designed to reduce this comorbidity.
