Geographic and temporal trends in the molecular epidemiology and genetic mechanisms of transmitted HIV-1 drug resistance: an individual-patient- and sequence-level meta-analysis
Soo-Yon Rhee,José Luis Santiago Blanco,Michael R. Jordan,Jonathan Taylor,Philippe Lemey,Vici Varghese,Raph L. Hamers,Silvia Bertagnolio,Tobias F. Rinke de Wit,Avelin F. TL;DR: Most TDR strains in SSA and SSEA arose independently, suggesting that ARV regimens with a high genetic barrier to resistance combined with improved patient adherence may mitigate TDR increases by reducing the generation of new ARV-resistant strains.
Journal ArticleDOI
Geographic and Temporal Trends in Isolation and Antifungal Susceptibility of Candida parapsilosis: a Global Assessment from the ARTEMIS DISK Antifungal Surveillance Program, 2001 to 2005
M. A. Pfaller,Daniel J. Diekema,D. L. Gibbs,V. A. Newell,Kee Peng Ng,Arnaldo Lopes Colombo,J. Finquelievich,Rosemary Ann Barnes,Jeannette Wadula +8 more
TL;DR: Geographic and temporal trends in the isolation of Candida parapsilosis from clinical specimens and the in vitro susceptibilities of 9,371 isolates to fluconazole and voriconazole are described and both the frequency of isolation and the resistance of C. parpsilosis are described.
Journal ArticleDOI
Candida rugosa, an Emerging Fungal Pathogen with Resistance to Azoles: Geographic and Temporal Trends from the ARTEMIS DISK Antifungal Surveillance Program
M. A. Pfaller,Daniel J. Diekema,Arnaldo Lopes Colombo,Christopher C. Kibbler,Kee Peng Ng,D. L. Gibbs,V. A. Newell +6 more
TL;DR: Candida rugosa is a fungus that appears to be emerging as a cause of infection in some geographic regions and should be considered, along with the established pathogens Candida krusei and Candida glabrata, as a species of Candida with reduced susceptibility to the azole antifungal agents.
Journal ArticleDOI
ClicO FS: an interactive web-based service of Circos
TL;DR: ClicO Free Service is presented, which provides a user-friendly, interactive web-based interface with configurable features to generate Circos circular plots, and is freely available at http://clicofs.codoncloud.com.
Journal ArticleDOI
The diagnostic performance of a single GeneXpert MTB/RIF assay in an intensified tuberculosis case finding survey among HIV-infected prisoners in Malaysia.
Haider Abdulrazzaq Abed Al-Darraji,Humaira Abd Razak,Kee Peng Ng,Frederick L. Altice,Frederick L. Altice,Adeeba Kamarulzaman,Adeeba Kamarulzaman +6 more
TL;DR: Single Xpert assay improved TB case detection and outperformed AFB smear microscopy, but yielded low screening sensitivity.
