Journal ArticleDOI

Linking Gut Microbiome and Lipid Metabolism: Moving beyond Associations.

TL;DR: A review and discussion of recent research focusing on microbe-host-lipid co-metabolism can be found in this paper, where the interplay of human gut microbiota and molecular lipids entering host systemic circulation, and its role in health and disease is discussed.
Book ChapterDOI

The Role of Metabolomics in Systems Biology

TL;DR: The recent completion of major milestones of the Human Genome Project has demonstrated the impact of the “omics revolution” on modern research in the life sciences, and proteomic analysis has stimulated dramatic technological advances for protein quantification, characterization, and identification.
Journal ArticleDOI

Capillary electrophoresis with UV detection and mass spectrometry in method development for profiling metabolites of steroid hormone metabolism.

TL;DR: The aim of this study was to develop a method for comprehensive profiling of metabolites involved in mammalian steroid metabolism using the partial filling micellar electrokinetic chromatography technique for determination of endogenous low-hydrophilic steroids.
Journal ArticleDOI

Methods for the differential integrative omic analysis of plasma from a transgenic disease animal model.

TL;DR: A novel systematic approach to analyze organisms with complex metabolic regulatory networks by using precise analytical methods to measure biochemical constituents and their relative abundance in whole plasma of transgenic ApoE*3-Leiden mice and an isogenic wild-type control group, and results show quantitative relationships between heterogeneous components in the TG animals.
