Journal ArticleDOI
Downregulation of 5-hydroxymethylcytosine is an early event in pancreatic tumorigenesis.
Kohei Fujikura,Zainab I. Alruwaii,Michael C. Haffner,Maria A. Trujillo,Nicholas J. Roberts,Seung-Mo Hong,Anne Macgregor-Das,Michael Goggins,Sujayita Roy,Alan K. Meeker,Ding Ding,Michael J. Wright,Jin He,Ralph H. Hruban,Laura D. Wood +14 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors found that aberrant expression of ten-eleven translocation methylcytosine dioxygenase 1 (TET1) and subsequent global 5hmC alteration are linked to early tumorigenesis in the pancreas.
Journal ArticleDOI
Pathology and genetic testing : Workshop No. 6

TL;DR: The need for patient consent has led to concerns that certain types of cancer research projects will no longer be feasible; however, institutional review board-approved protocols that facilitate obtaining patient clinical data while maintaining patient confidentiality can overcome this problem as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors from the Australian Pancreatic Cancer Genome Initiative were inadvertently omitted: Christopher J. Scarlett and Warren Kaplan from the The Kinghorn Cancer Centre; and Aldo Scarpa from the ARCNET Center for Applied Research on Cancer.
Journal ArticleDOI
Pancreatic cancer pathology viewed in the light of evolution.
Michaël Noë,Seung-Mo Hong,Laura D. Wood,Elizabeth D. Thompson,Nicholas J. Roberts,Michael Goggins,Alison P. Klein,James R. Eshleman,Scott E. Kern,Ralph H. Hruban +9 more
TL;DR: One way to understand ductal adenocarcinoma of the pancreas (pancreatic cancer) is to view it as unimaginably large numbers of evolving living organisms interacting with their environment.
