Journal ArticleDOI
Design and validation of a histological scoring system for nonalcoholic fatty liver disease
David E. Kleiner,Elizabeth M. Brunt,Mark L. Van Natta,Cynthia Behling,Melissa J. Contos,Oscar W. Cummings,Linda D. Ferrell,Yao Chang Liu,Michael Torbenson,Aynur Unalp-Arida,Matthew M. Yeh,Arthur J. McCullough,Arun J. Sanyal +12 more
TL;DR: A strong scoring system and NAS for NAFLD and NASH with reasonable inter‐rater reproducibility that should be useful for studies of both adults and children with any degree ofNAFLD are presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comparison of endoscopic ultrasonography and multidetector computed tomography for detecting and staging pancreatic cancer.
John M. DeWitt,Benedict M. Devereaux,Melissa Chriswell,Kathleen McGreevy,Thomas J. Howard,Thomas F. Imperiale,D. Ciaccia,Kathleen A. Lane,Dean D. T. Maglinte,Kenyon K. Kopecky,Julia K. Leblanc,Lee McHenry,James A. Madura,Alex M. Aisen,Harvey M. Cramer,Oscar W. Cummings,Stuart Sherman +16 more
TL;DR: A prospective study found that, among 80 adults with proven pancreatic cancer, the sensitivity of multidetector computed tomography and endoscopic ultrasonography for detecting a pancreatic mass and detecting resectability was 86% and 98% respectively.
Journal ArticleDOI
Screening for Barrett's esophagus in colonoscopy patients with and without heartburn.
Douglas K. Rex,Oscar W. Cummings,Michael Shaw,Mark Cumings,Roy K.H Wong,Raj S Vasudeva,Donal Dunne,Emad Y. Rahmani,Debra J. Helper +8 more
TL;DR: Overall, BE was not associated with heartburn, although heartburn was more common in persons with LSBE or circumferential short segments, and SSBE is relatively common in people age > or =40 years with no prior endoscopy, irrespective of heartburn history.
Journal ArticleDOI
IL-17–dependent cellular immunity to collagen type V predisposes to obliterative bronchiolitis in human lung transplants
William J. Burlingham,Robert B. Love,Robert B. Love,Ewa Jankowska-Gan,Lynn D. Haynes,Qingyong Xu,Joseph L. Bobadilla,Keith C. Meyer,Mary S. Hayney,Rudolf K. Braun,Rudolf K. Braun,Daniel S. Greenspan,Bagavathi Gopalakrishnan,Junchao Cai,David D. Brand,Shigetoshi Yoshida,Oscar W. Cummings,David S. Wilkes +17 more
TL;DR: While alloimmunities initiates lung transplant rejection, de novo autoimmunity mediated by col(V)-specific Th17 cells and monocyte/macrophage accessory cells ultimately causes progressive airway obliteration.
Journal ArticleDOI

Hruban,Bert Vogelstein,Anne Marie Lennon +66 more
TL;DR: A panel of molecular markers and clinical features that show promise for the accurate classification of cystic neoplasms of the pancreas and identification of cysts that require surgery are identified.
