TL;DR: The exploration of the unique properties of stored and cooled beams of highly-charged ions as provided by heavy-ion storage rings has opened novel and fascinating research opportunities in the realm of atomic and nuclear physics research as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

Angle-resolved study of resonant Auger decay and fluorescence emission processes after core excitations of the terminal and central nitrogen atoms in N 2 O

TL;DR: In this article, the angular distribution parameters of photoelectrons were measured as functions of the exciting-photon energy with small bandwidth in the vicinity of the resonant frequencies of the photoelectron core excitations.
Journal ArticleDOI

Direct evidence for radiative charge transfer after inner-shell excitation and ionization of large clusters

TL;DR: In this article, the authors directly observed radiative charge transfer (RCT) in Ne clusters by dispersed vacuum-ultraviolet photon detection, which complements the picture of the RCT process in weakly bound clusters, providing information which is inaccessible by charged particle detection techniques.
Journal ArticleDOI

Lyman-series emission after valence and core excitation of water vapor

TL;DR: In this paper, the Lyman-series emission cross sections of neutral hydrogen dissociation fragments after valence (15,34 eV) and inner-shell (533,542 eV), with monochromatic synchrotron radiation as functions of the exciting-photon energy were derived.
