TL;DR: The exploration of the unique properties of stored and cooled beams of highly-charged ions as provided by heavy-ion storage rings has opened novel and fascinating research opportunities in the realm of atomic and nuclear physics research as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI
Detecting ultrafast interatomic electronic processes in media by fluorescence
André Knie,Andreas Hans,Marko Förstel,Uwe Hergenhahn,Philipp Schmidt,Philipp Reiß,Christian Ozga,Benjamin Kambs,Florian Trinter,J. Voigtsberger,D. Metz,Till Jahnke,Reinhard Dörner,Alexander I. Kuleff,Lorenz S. Cederbaum,Philipp V. Demekhin,Arno Ehresmann +16 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the resonant ICD processes can also be detected by measuring the characteristic fluorescence radiation, which makes their study in dense media possible, which can be used to detect the ICD process.
Journal ArticleDOI
Angle-resolved study of resonant Auger decay and fluorescence emission processes after core excitations of the terminal and central nitrogen atoms in N 2 O
André Knie,Markus Ilchen,Ph. Schmidt,Philipp Reiß,Christian Ozga,Benjamin Kambs,Andreas Hans,N. Müglich,S. A. Galitskiy,Leif Glaser,Peter Walter,Jens Viefhaus,Arno Ehresmann,Philipp V. Demekhin +13 more
TL;DR: In this article, the angular distribution parameters of photoelectrons were measured as functions of the exciting-photon energy with small bandwidth in the vicinity of the resonant frequencies of the photoelectron core excitations.
Journal ArticleDOI
Direct evidence for radiative charge transfer after inner-shell excitation and ionization of large clusters
Andreas Hans,Vasili Stumpf,Xaver Holzapfel,F. Wiegandt,Philipp Schmidt,Christian Ozga,Philipp Reiß,Ltaief Ben Ltaief,C. Küstner-Wetekam,Till Jahnke,Arno Ehresmann,Philipp V. Demekhin,Kirill Gokhberg,André Knie +13 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors directly observed radiative charge transfer (RCT) in Ne clusters by dispersed vacuum-ultraviolet photon detection, which complements the picture of the RCT process in weakly bound clusters, providing information which is inaccessible by charged particle detection techniques.
Journal ArticleDOI
Lyman-series emission after valence and core excitation of water vapor
Andreas Hans,André Knie,Philipp Schmidt,L. Ben Ltaief,Christian Ozga,Philipp Reiß,Henning Huckfeldt,Marko Förstel,Uwe Hergenhahn,Arno Ehresmann +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the Lyman-series emission cross sections of neutral hydrogen dissociation fragments after valence (15,34 eV) and inner-shell (533,542 eV), with monochromatic synchrotron radiation as functions of the exciting-photon energy were derived.
