Terminal digit preference and single-number preference in the Syst-Eur trial: influence of quality control.

TL;DR: Monitoring and feedback of data quality should be undertaken to minimize digit and number preference in the Syst-Eur randomized placebo-controlled trial of the treatment of isolated systolic hypertension.
Journal ArticleDOI

Exercise performance and training in patients with implantable cardioverter-defibrillators and coronary heart disease

TL;DR: Exercise performance and the favorable response to a 3-month exercise training program are comparable in patients with ICD and matched control patients, however, tachyarrhythmias may occur during exercise testing or training and require special attention.
Journal ArticleDOI

Exercise-based cardiac rehabilitation improves endothelial function assessed by flow-mediated dilation but not by pulse amplitude tonometry*

TL;DR: Exercise-based cardiac rehabilitation is associated with an improvement in endothelial function, as can be measured by flow-mediated dilation but not by the reactive hyperaemia index of the pulse amplitude tonometry method.
Journal ArticleDOI

Ambulatory Blood Pressure and Blood Pressure Measured at Home: Progress Report on a Population Study

TL;DR: In this paper, a population sample of 718 subjects (20 through 88 years old) was investigated to determine reference values for ambulatory blood pressure, and they recorded over 24 hours, taking measurements at 20min intervals from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., and at 45min intervals between 10 p.,m. and 1.30 a. m.
