Journal ArticleDOI

Outdoor air pollution is associated with rapid decline of lung function in α-1-antitrypsin deficiency

TL;DR: Outdoor air pollutants are associated with respiratory morbidity and mortality, but little longitudinal work has been undertaken in this area in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and exposure to ozone and PM10 predicts decline of lung function in AATD.
Journal ArticleDOI

Health risk associated with airborne particulate matter and its components in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

TL;DR: Cadmium shows a very high crustal enrichment factor but is present predominantly in the coarse particle fraction suggesting that local soils and surface dusts are unusually enriched in Cd relative to the global average.
Journal ArticleDOI

Atmospheric behaviour of particulate oxalate at UK urban background and rural sites

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors measured oxalate at a UK urban site (500 daily samples) and for a more limited period simultaneously at a rural site (100 samples) in the fine (less than 2.5μm) and coarse (2.5-10μm).
Journal ArticleDOI

The chemical composition of highway drainage waters II. Chemical associations of metals in the suspended sediment

TL;DR: In this article, the chemical associations of metals in the suspended sediment fraction of highway drainage waters have been investigated, and significant positive correlations between concentrations of pairs of metals (Pb and Cu, Fe and Cu and Fe, and Fe and Mn) were found.
