Rainfall simulation and Structure-from-Motion photogrammetry for the analysis of soil water erosion in Mediterranean vineyards.
Massimo Prosdocimi,María Burguet,Simone Di Prima,Giulia Sofia,Enric Terol,Jesús Rodrigo Comino,Artemi Cerdà,Artemi Cerdà,Paolo Tarolli +8 more
TL;DR: High-resolution topography derived from SfM revealed to be essential in the sediment connectivity analysis and, therefore, in the estimation of eroded materials, when comparing them to those derived from the rainfall simulation methodology.
Journal ArticleDOI
Soil Science Challenges in a New Era: A Transdisciplinary Overview of Relevant Topics
Jesús Rodrigo-Comino,Jesús Rodrigo-Comino,Manuel López-Vicente,Vinod Kumar,Andrés Rodríguez-Seijo,Orsolya Valkó,Claudia Rojas,Hamid Reza Pourghasemi,Luca Salvati,Noura Bakr,Emmanuelle Vaudour,Eric C. Brevik,Maja Radziemska,Manuel Pulido,Simone Di Prima,Simone Di Prima,Marta Dondini,Wim de Vries,Erika S. Santos,Maria de Lourdes Mendonça-Santos,Yang Yu,Panos Panagos +21 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors assess past achievements and current challenges regarding soil threats such as erosion and soil contamination related to different United Nations sustainable development goals (SDGs) including sustainable food production, ensuring healthy lives and reduce environmental risks (SDG3), ensuring water availability ( SDG6), and enhanced soil carbon sequestration because of climate change (SDD13).
Journal ArticleDOI
Soil Physical Quality of Citrus Orchards Under Tillage, Herbicide, and Organic Managements
Simone Di Prima,Jesús Rodrigo-Comino,Agata Novara,Massimo Iovino,Mario Pirastru,Saskia Keesstra,Saskia Keesstra,Artemi Cerdà +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors compared three different soil managements, namely no-tillage using herbicides, tillage under chemical farming, and no tillage under organic farming, in citrus orchards.
Journal ArticleDOI

Doerr,Artemi Cerdà +97 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors provide a general overview of the current wildland fire patterns and challenges as perceived by national representatives, supplemented by national fire statistics (2009-2018) across Europe.
Journal ArticleDOI
An assessment of the BEST procedure to estimate the soil water retention curve: A comparison with the evaporation method
TL;DR: In this paper, the water retention curve was predicted for four differently textured soils by applying three existing Beerkan Estimation of Soil Transfer parameters (BEST) algorithms (i.e., slope, intercept and steady) and the results compared with those measured by the standard Wind evaporation method.
