Cytokine interactions in experimental cutaneous leishmaniasis. Interleukin 4 synergizes with interferon‐γ to activate murine macrophages for killing of Leishmania major amastigotes

TL;DR: Evidence is presented that the synergistic action of IL 4 and IFN‐γ occurs via an L‐arginine‐dependent killing pathway, and it is concluded that IL 4 provides a strong stimulus for the killing of intracellular L. major AM provided low concentrations of IFN-γ are present.
Journal ArticleDOI

L-N6-(1-iminoethyl)-lysine potently inhibits inducible nitric oxide synthase and is superior to NG-monomethyl-arginine in vitro and in vivo.

TL;DR: It is concluded that L-N6-(1-iminoethyl)-lysine should be used instead of NG-monomethyl-L-arginine for potent suppression of inducible NO-synthase in vitro and in vivo.
Journal ArticleDOI

NK Cells, but Not NKT Cells, Are Involved in Pseudomonas aeruginosa Exotoxin A-Induced Hepatotoxicity in Mice

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that NK cells, activated and recruited independently of NKT cells, contribute to PEA-induced T cell-dependent liver injury in mice.
