Surface energy and wettability of van der Waals structures

TL;DR: The wetting behavior of surfaces is believed to be affected by van der Waals (vdW) forces; however, there is no clear demonstration of this as discussed by the authors, however, with the isolation of two-dimensional vdW layered materials it is possible to test this hypothesis.
Journal ArticleDOI

On the nature of wettability of van der Waals heterostructures

TL;DR: In this article, the authors report the wetting behavior of vdW heterostructures which include, chemical vapor deposition (CVD) grown graphene, molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) and tungsten disulfides (WS2) on few layers of hexagon boron nitride (h-BN) and SiO2/Si.
Journal ArticleDOI

Selective growth of single phase VO2(A, B, and M) polymorph thin films

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors demonstrate the growth of high quality single phase films of VO2(A, B, and M) on SrTiO3 substrate by controlling the vanadium arrival rate (laser frequency) and oxidation of the V atoms.
