Electronic phase separation at the LaAlO3/SrTiO3 interface
Ariando,X.P. Wang,G. Baskaran,Zhiqi Liu,J. Huijben,Jiabao Yi,Anil Annadi,A. Roy Barman,Andrivo Rusydi,Sankar Dhar,Yuan Ping Feng,Jun Ding,Hans Hilgenkamp,Thirumalai Venkatesan +13 more
TL;DR: An EPS state is reported at the LaAlO(3)/SrTiO (3) interface, where the interface charges are separated into regions of a quasi-two-dimensional electron gas, a ferromagnetic phase, which persists above room temperature, and a diamagnetic/paramagnetic phase below 60 K.
Journal ArticleDOI
Anisotropic two-dimensional electron gas at the LaAlO3/SrTiO3 (110) interface
Anil Annadi,Qinfang Zhang,X. Renshaw Wang,Nikolina Tuzla,Kalon Gopinadhan,W. M. Lü,A. Roy Barman,Zhiqi Liu,Amar Srivastava,Surajit Saha,Yongqian Zhao,Shengwei Zeng,Sankar Dhar,Eva Olsson,Bo Gu,Seiji Yunoki,Sadamichi Maekawa,Hans Hilgenkamp,Hans Hilgenkamp,Thirumalai Venkatesan,Ariando +20 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors reported the observation of unexpected conductivity at the LaAlO3/SrTiO3 interface prepared on (110)-oriented SrTiO 3, with a LaO3-layer thickness-dependent metal-insulator transition.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mega-electron-volt proton irradiation on supported and suspended graphene: A Raman spectroscopic layer dependent study
S. Mathew,T. K. Chan,Da Zhan,Kalon Gopinadhan,A. Roy Barman,M. B. H. Breese,Sankar Dhar,Zexiang Shen,Thirumalai Venkatesan,John T. L. Thong +9 more
TL;DR: Graphene samples with 1, 2, and 4 layers and 1'+'1 folded bi-layers and graphite have been irradiated with 2 MeV protons at fluences ranging from 1'×'1015' to 6'× '1018' ions/cm2.
Journal ArticleDOI
A new route to graphene layers by selective laser ablation
Sankar Dhar,A. Roy Barman,Guangxin Ni,Xiao Renshaw Wang,Xiangfan Xu,Yi Zheng,Sukant K. Tripathy,Ariando,Andrivo Rusydi,Kian Ping Loh,Michael Rübhausen,A. H. Castro Neto,A. H. Castro Neto,B. Őzyilmaz,Thirumalai Venkatesan +14 more
TL;DR: For the 2D regime of graphite (up to N≈7), the dominant flexural mode specific heat (due to its N-1 dependence) gives rise to a strong layer number-dependence on the pulsed laser ablation threshold energy density, while for 3D regime (N>>7) the energy density windows exist between the minimum energy densities that are required for ablating single, bi, or more layers of graphene, allowing layer number selectivity as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cationic-vacancy-induced room-temperature ferromagnetism in transparent, conducting anatase Ti1-xTaxO2(x = 0.05) thin films
Andrivo Rusydi,Sankar Dhar,A. Roy Barman,Ariando,Dongchen Qi,Mallikarjuna Rao Motapothula,Jiabao Yi,Iman Santoso,Yuan Ping Feng,Kesong Yang,Kesong Yang,Ying Dai,Nikolai Yakovlev,Jun Ding,Andrew T. S. Wee,G. Neuber,M. B. H. Breese,M. Ruebhausen,M. Ruebhausen,Hans Hilgenkamp,Hans Hilgenkamp,Thirumalai Venkatesan +21 more
TL;DR: It is proposed (in the absence of any obvious exchange mechanisms) that the localized magnetic moments, VTi sites, are ferromagnetically ordered by itinerant carriers.
