CD40 Stimulation Promotes Human Secondary Immunoglobulin Responses in HuPBL-SCID Chimeras☆
William J. Murphy,Satoshi Funakoshi,William C. Fanslow,Helen Rager,Dennis D. Taub,Dan L. Longo +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, the effects of anti-human CD40 MoAb in an in vivo system where human peripheral blood lymphocytes (huPBL) were engrafted into mice with severe combined immune deficiency (SCID), were examined for the presence of human DT-specific antibodies by ELISA.
Journal ArticleDOI
Early-Onset Progressive Retinal Atrophy Associated with an IQCB1 Variant in African Black-Footed Cats (Felis nigripes)
Annie Oh,Jacqueline W. Pearce,Barbara Gandolfi,Erica K. Creighton,William K. Suedmeyer,Michael Selig,Ann P. Bosiack,Leilani J. Castaner,Rebecca E.H. Whiting,Ellen B. Belknap,Leslie A. Lyons,Danielle Aderdein,Paulo C. Alves,Gregory S. Barsh,Holly C. Beale,Adam R. Boyko,Marta Castelhano,Patricia P. Chan,N. Matthew Ellinwood,Dorian J. Garrick,Christopher R Helps,Christopher B. Todhunter,Wesley C. Warren +34 more
TL;DR: Testing in additional affected cats confirmed that cats homozygous for a 2 base pair deletion within IQ calmodulin-binding motif-containing protein-1 (IQCB1), the gene that encodes for nephrocystin-5 (NPHP5), had vision loss.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mitochondrial DNA phylogeny of West African aplocheiloid killifishes (Cyprinodontiformes, Aplocheilidae).
TL;DR: Biogeographic inference suggests that the ancestors of this group diversified westward through upland habitat and have only relatively recently entered the lowland habitats in which Scriptaphyosemion and Callopanchax have diversified, with the latter genus reacquiring a suite of traits collectively referred to as annualism.
Journal ArticleDOI
Activated natural killer cells and interleukin-2 promote granulocytic and megakaryocytic reconstitution after syngeneic bone marrow transplantation in mice.
TL;DR: Results show that the use of populations enriched for activated NK cells after syngeneic BM transplantation (BMT) has a profound enhancing effect on engraftment primarily affecting megakaryocytic and granulocytic cell reconstitution.
Journal ArticleDOI
Constitutive expression of functional CD40 on mouse renal cancer cells: Induction of Fas and Fas-mediated killing by CD40L
Jong-Keuk Lee,Naoko Seki,Thomas J. Sayers,Jeffrey Subleski,Eilene Gruys,William J. Murphy,Robert H. Wiltrout +6 more
TL;DR: It is reported that both mouse and human renal carcinoma cells (RCC) also constitutively express functional CD40, and this expression is demonstrated to be functionally active and may provide a molecular target for the development of new approaches to the treatment of RCC.
