Journal ArticleDOI

Modeling moisture transport across porcine skin using reaction engineering approach and examination of feasibility of the two-phase approach

TL;DR: In this paper, a two-phase approach was implemented to model moisture transport for drying of porous biological materials, and their parameters were established experimentally and correlated using the reaction engineering approach.
Journal ArticleDOI

Inactivation Kinetics of Yeast Cells during Infrared Drying

TL;DR: In this article, aqueous yeast suspensions were used to investigate the effects of drying (in an infrared heating environment) on the survival of yeast, and the processes were modeled mathematically using a range of kinetics rate equations.
Journal ArticleDOI

Real time measurement of the attenuation coefficient of water in open ocean based on stimulated Brillouin scattering

TL;DR: In this paper, a method for measuring the attenuation coefficient of seawater in real time based on stimulated Brillouin scattering was proposed, which can be achieved through detecting the intensity of back scattered stimulated stimulated brilouin (BSB) scattering and the intensity intensity of the laser beam.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of different pretreatment methods on the drying characteristics and quality of potatoes

TL;DR: Dehydrated potato pretreated with citric acid all showed similar dynamic moisture adsorption curves, namely type II sorption isotherm, and can be well fitted using the Guggenheim–Anderson–deBoer model with R 2 higher than .97.
Journal ArticleDOI

Study on the Effect of Cut Tobacco Drying on the Pyrolysis and Combustion Properties

TL;DR: In this paper, an oven drying method was applied to the treatment of the cut tobacco samples in a temperature range from 70 to 170°C, and the results showed that oven drying prepared uniformly treated samples.
