Air drying of milk droplet under constant and time-dependent conditions

TL;DR: In this article, two models for modeling the drying characteristics of a single milk droplet and the dryer wide simulations incorporating computational fluid dynamics (CFD) have been validated and compared against a very wide range of experimental results including isothermal and time-varying temperature conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI

In vitro and in vivo studies on the antioxidant activities of the aqueous extracts of Douchi (a traditional Chinese salt-fermented soybean food)

TL;DR: In this article, Douchi extracts were evaluated for their antioxidant properties and the isoflavones and peptides contents of extracts were determined by determining the α,α-diphenyl-β-pricrylhydrazyl (DPPH) and 2,2′-azino-bis-(3-ethylbenzthiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) (ABTS) radical scavenging activities, and the chelating ability of ferrous ions, of which IC50 values were found to be 0.658, 0.204
Journal ArticleDOI

Optimization of Supercritical Carbon Dioxide Extraction of Flaxseed Oil Using Response Surface Methodology

TL;DR: In this paper, the optimal conditions for the supercritical carbon dioxide (SC-CO2) extraction of flaxseed oil from flax seed were determined using response surface methodology (RSM).
Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of temperature and pH on the catalytic activity of the immobilized β-galactosidase from Kluyveromyces lactis

TL;DR: The cross-linking immobilization of β-galactosidase from Kluyveromyces lactis on graphite surfaces was investigated, and the deactivation rate was found to follow the Arrhenius law with the activation energy of about 200 kJ mol −1 for the de activation of the immobilized enzyme.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of Moisture Content on the Physical Properties of Fibered Flaxseed

TL;DR: The physical properties of fibered flaxseed were investigated within moisture content varying from 6.21 to 16.29% in this article, where the length, width, thickness and geometric mean diameter increased from 4.20 to 4.44mm, 1.95 to 2.13mm, 0.91 to 0.95mm, and 1.06mm, respectively in the moisture content range.
