Calcium-Aggregated Milk: a Potential New Option for Improving the Viability of Lactic Acid Bacteria Under Heat Stress

TL;DR: In this paper, a method to enhance the stability of lactic acid bacteria (LAB) under heat stress has been identified by enhancing the heat stability of skim milk as the carrier.
Journal ArticleDOI

Visible Light-Induced Metal Free Surface Initiated Atom Transfer Radical Polymerization of Methyl Methacrylate on SBA-15

TL;DR: This procedure provides a low-cost, readily available, and easy modification method to synthesize polymeric composites without the contamination of metal.
Journal ArticleDOI

Modelling air flow and ambient temperature effects on the biological self‐heating of compost piles

TL;DR: In this paper, a one-dimensional model for self-heating in compost piles is proposed, which consists of mass balance equations for oxygen and energy, and steady state temperature diagrams are determined as a function of the size of the compost pile and the flow rate of air through the pile.
Journal ArticleDOI

3D lanthanide metal-organic frameworks constructed from 2,6-naphthalenedicarboxylate ligand: synthesis, structure, luminescence and dye adsorption

TL;DR: In this paper, a series of 3D lanthanide metal-organic frameworks with a rhombic channel along the b axis and high thermal stabilities have been successfully synthesized under solvothermal conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Full Polarization Conical Dispersion and Zero-Refractive-Index in Two-Dimensional Photonic Hypercrystals

TL;DR: It is shown that two-dimensional photonic hypercrystals can be designed that exhibit polarization independent conical dispersion at the Brillouin zone center, as two sets of triply-degenerate point for each polarization are accidentally at the same Dirac frequency.
