TL;DR: The 2016 revision of the ARIA guidelines provides both updated and new recommendations about the pharmacologic treatment of AR, addressing the relative merits of using oral H1‐antihistamines, intranasal H1-antihistsamines, IntranasAL corticosteroids, and leukotriene receptor antagonists either alone or in combination.

TL;DR: The evidence-based guidelines of the American Society of Hematology (ASH) are intended to support patients, clinicians, and other health care professionals in decisions about the use of anticoagulation for thromboprophylaxis for patients with COVID-19-related critical illness and acute illness who do not have confirmed or suspected venous thromboembolism (VTE) as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI
American Society of Hematology 2018 Guidelines for management of venous thromboembolism: treatment of pediatric venous thromboembolism.
Paul Monagle,Carlos Cuello,Carlos Cuello,Caitlin Augustine,Mariana Bonduel,Leonardo R. Brandão,Tammy Capman,Anthony K.C. Chan,Sheila J. Hanson,Christoph Male,Joerg J Meerpohl,Fiona Newall,Sarah H. TL;DR: Recommendations include understanding the natural history of asymptomatic thrombosis, determining subgroup boundaries that enable risk stratification of children for escalation of treatment, and appropriate study of newer anticoagulant agents in children.
Journal ArticleDOI
American Society of Hematology living guidelines on the use of anticoagulation for thromboprophylaxis in patients with COVID-19: May 2021 update on the use of intermediate-intensity anticoagulation in critically ill patients.

TL;DR: In 2019, the American Society of Hematology (ASH) developed guidelines to support patients, clinicians, and other health care professionals in making decisions about the use of anticoagulation for thromboprophylaxis in patients with COVID-19-related critical illness who do not have confirmed or suspected venous thromboembolism (VTE) as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Patient values and preferences regarding VTE disease: a systematic review to inform American Society of Hematology guidelines
Itziar Etxeandia-Ikobaltzeta,Yuan Zhang,Francesca Brundisini,Ivan D. Florez,Ivan D. Florez,Wojtek Wiercioch,Robby Nieuwlaat,Housne Ara Begum,Carlos Cuello,Carlos Cuello,Yetiani Roldan,Ru Chen,Chengyi Ding,Rebecca L. Morgan,John J. Schünemann +27 more
TL;DR: It is revealed that patients put higher value on VTE risk reduction than on the potential harms of the treatment (certainty of evidence from low to moderate), which highlights the necessity to explore the variability induced by different approaches to ascertain values.
