Journal ArticleDOI
Matrin 3 binds and stabilizes mRNA
Maayan Salton,Ran Elkon,Tatiana Borodina,Aleksey Davydov,Marie-Laure Yaspo,Eran Halperin,Yosef Shiloh +6 more
TL;DR: The data suggest that the cellular level of MATR3, known to be highly regulated, modulates the stability of a group of gene transcripts, and it is concluded that it has a role in mRNA stabilization.
Journal ArticleDOI
Optimal function of the DNA repair enzyme TDP1 requires its phosphorylation by ATM and/or DNA-PK.
Benu Brata Das,Smitha Antony,Shalu Gupta,Thomas S. Dexheimer,Christophe E. Redon,Susan H. Garfield,Yosef Shiloh,Yves Pommier +7 more
TL;DR: It is shown that Top1‐associated DNA double‐stranded breaks (DSBs) induce the phosphorylation of TDP1 at S81, which provides a new mechanism for TDP 1 post‐translational regulation by ATM and DNA‐PK.
Journal ArticleDOI
Downregulation of the type 1 insulin-like growth factor receptor in mouse melanoma cells is associated with enhanced radiosensitivity and impaired activation of Atm kinase.
Valentine M. Macaulay,A J Salisbury,Erin A. Bohula,Martin P. Playford,Nechama I. Smorodinsky,Yosef Shiloh +5 more
TL;DR: The concept of targeted IGF1R downregulation as a potential treatment for malignant melanoma and other radioresistant tumours is supported.
Journal ArticleDOI
DNA Damage-Induced Phosphorylation of MdmX at Serine 367 Activates p53 by Targeting MdmX for Mdm2-Dependent Degradation
Koji Okamoto,Kenji Kashima,Yaron Pereg,Michiko Ishida,Satomi Yamazaki,Ayumi Nota,Amina F A S Teunisse,Domenico Migliorini,Issay Kitabayashi,Jean-Christophe Marine,Carol Prives,Yosef Shiloh,Aart G. Jochemsen,Yoichi Taya +13 more
TL;DR: It is proposed that Mdmx phosphorylation at S367 plays an important role in p53 activation after DNA damage by triggering Mdm2-dependent degradation of MDMx.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ionizing radiation induces ataxia telangiectasia mutated kinase (ATM)-mediated phosphorylation of LKB1/STK11 at Thr-366.
Gopal P. Sapkota,Maria Deak,Agnieszka Kieloch,Nick Morrice,Aaron A. Goodarzi,Carl Smythe,Yosef Shiloh,Susan P. Lees-Miller,Dario R. Alessi +8 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that both DNA-PK and ATM efficiently phosphorylate LKB1 at Thr-366 in vitro and evidence that ATM mediates this phosphorylation in vivo is provided, suggesting that ATM could regulate L KB1.
