Journal ArticleDOI

Matrin 3 binds and stabilizes mRNA

TL;DR: The data suggest that the cellular level of MATR3, known to be highly regulated, modulates the stability of a group of gene transcripts, and it is concluded that it has a role in mRNA stabilization.
Journal ArticleDOI

Optimal function of the DNA repair enzyme TDP1 requires its phosphorylation by ATM and/or DNA-PK.

TL;DR: It is shown that Top1‐associated DNA double‐stranded breaks (DSBs) induce the phosphorylation of TDP1 at S81, which provides a new mechanism for TDP 1 post‐translational regulation by ATM and DNA‐PK.
Journal ArticleDOI

Downregulation of the type 1 insulin-like growth factor receptor in mouse melanoma cells is associated with enhanced radiosensitivity and impaired activation of Atm kinase.

TL;DR: The concept of targeted IGF1R downregulation as a potential treatment for malignant melanoma and other radioresistant tumours is supported.
Journal ArticleDOI

Ionizing radiation induces ataxia telangiectasia mutated kinase (ATM)-mediated phosphorylation of LKB1/STK11 at Thr-366.

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that both DNA-PK and ATM efficiently phosphorylate LKB1 at Thr-366 in vitro and evidence that ATM mediates this phosphorylation in vivo is provided, suggesting that ATM could regulate L KB1.
