TL;DR: A total of 1329 samples were collected from monthly sampling between November 2009 and October 2010 in order to analyze growth features and population structure of rudd Scardinius erythrophthalmus living in Lake Ladik which has eutrophic character.
Abstract: A total of 1329 samples were collected from monthly sampling between November 2009 and October 2010 in order to analyze growth features and population structure of rudd Scardinius erythrophthalmus living in Lake Ladik which has eutrophic character. The fork length (FL) ranged from 9.8 to 21.4 cm and the body weight (W) ranged from 13.62 to 200.68 g. Based on lapillus readings, the maximum age was 7 years. The overall ratio of female to male was 1:0.16. The von Bertalanffy growth equation parameters were calculated as L∞ = 39.32 cm, W∞ = 1504.92 g, k = 0.08, t0 = -1.08 for females, and L∞ = 28.19 cm, W∞ = 448.03 g, k = 0.13, t0 = -1.19 for males. Length-weight relationship for females and males was found as W = 0.0060 FL3.386 and W = 0.0078 FL3.282, respectively. The Fulton’s condition factor (K) showed an upward trend with reference to age and length groups in both sex. The value of mean K was computed as 1.737 for females, 1.667 for males and 1.727 for combined sexes. This study provides the initial data on population structure, growth features and condition of rudd in Lake Ladik. Obtained data have shown that population is comprised of young individuals and that the growth rate of the species is slow.

TL;DR: Investigation of the effect of changes in the levels of placental trace and toxic elements on second-trimester abortion found changes in trace element and toxic element levels, especially an increase in antimony and selenium, in placental tissue due to environmental exposure may play an important role in second- Trimester abortion.
Abstract: Purpose Intensive research has been conducted on the effects of toxic and
trace elements on pregnancy. Previous studies indicated a possible relationship
between placental levels of these elements and first-trimester abortion;
however, their effects on the further gestational weeks are not clear. This
study aimed to investigate the effect of changes in the levels of placental
trace and toxic elements on second-trimester abortion. Methods The patient group consisted of 30 women with missed abortion. The
control group comprised 60 healthy term and singleton pregnant women who gave
birth. Placental samples were obtained from the patients and the healthy
controls, and the concentrations of placental elements were measured using
inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry. Results In the abortion group, placental arsenic, cadmium, mercury, lead,
antimony, tin, cobalt, manganese, and selenium levels were significantly higher
than those of the control group (p<0.05). Antimony was determined as an
independent predictor with an odds ratio of 6.1 in toxic elements
(p=0.025), and selenium was determined as an independent predictor with
an odds ratio of 2.3 in trace elements (p=0.015). Conclusion The changes in trace element and toxic element levels,
especially an increase in antimony and selenium, in placental tissue due to
environmental exposure may play an important role in second-trimester
abortion.

TL;DR: In this article, a surface is determined by means of homothetic motion in the Lie group and then reparametrized with bicomplex numbers by using curves and surfaces obtained by homotropic motion.
Abstract: In this paper, we determine a surface \(M\) by means of homothetic motion in \( \mathbb {R}^{4}\) and reparametrize this surface \(M\) with bicomplex numbers. Also, by using curves and surfaces which are obtained by homothetic motion, we give some special subgroups of the Lie group \(P\).

TL;DR: Life-threatening complications such as anaphylactic shock that should be considered due to primary isolated splenic cyst hydatid rupture in especially endemic regions are highlighted.
Abstract: Echinococcosis is a helminthic zoonosis mainly caused by Echinococcus granulosus and commonly encountered in endemic areas. The liver and lung are the most frequently involved organs. A primary isolated hydatid cyst of spleen is an extremely rare disease even in endemic areas. Anaphylactic reaction is a known complication of cystic hydatid disease, a parasitic infestation caused by the larval/cyst stage of E. granulosus that usually occurs after trauma or during interventions. To the best of our knowledge, anaphylaxis with spontaneous rupture of primary isolated splenic hydatidoses had not been reported previously. The main purpose of this report is to highlight life-threatening complications such as anaphylactic shock that should be considered due to primary isolated splenic cyst hydatid rupture in especially endemic regions.
