TL;DR: In this article, a simple solid state dispersion method was used to synthesize ZnO/TiO2 binary oxide specimens in different weight ratios of 1:1, 1:3, and 3:1 (ZT11, ZT13 and ZT31 respectively) and characterized by XRD, SEM, XPS, Raman, UV-DRS, PL and BET techniques.
Abstract: Application of photocatalysis using TiO2 or ZnO for the removal of natural organic matter (NOM) dates back more than two decades Aiming to overcome the drawbacks of sole photocatalysts, use of multiphasic systems has received recent interest ZnO/TiO2 binary oxide specimens were synthesized by a simple solid state dispersion method in different weight ratios of 1:1; 1:3; and 3:1 (ZT11, ZT13 and ZT31 respectively) and characterized by XRD, SEM, XPS, Raman, UV-DRS, PL and BET techniques As a surrogate of NOM, humic acid (HA) was subjected to solar photocatalysis and degradation was followed by UV–vis and fluorescence spectroscopic tools along with dissolved organic carbon (DOC) contents Photocatalytic degradation of HA was approximated to first order kinetic model Referring to UV–vis parameters, ZT11 binary oxide expressed slightly higher photocatalytic performance with regard to TiO2, ZnO, ZT13 and ZT31 contrary to the mineralization extents as TiO2>ZT13 > ZT31 > ZT11 > ZnO Excitation-emission matrix fluorescence (EEM) contour plots of the organic matrix displayed almost complete removal of humic-like and fulvic-like fluorophores upon use of sole TiO2 and ZnO Regional distribution of the fluorophores were still evident with emergence of the new fluorophoric regions upon use of binary oxides ZnO/TiO2 could be considered as an efficient photocatalyst for the degradation of humic acids under solar irradiation

TL;DR: This study demonstrates that women with SCH had lower physical activity levels (PALs) compared to healthy controls and should participate in exercise programs to increase physical activity and muscle strength to achieve adequate PALs.
Abstract: Physical activity is associated with many health-related benefits. However, there is a shift towards inactive lifestyles around the world. Subclinical hypothyroidism (SCH) may have adverse effects similar to hypothyroidism. The presence of symptoms and reduced physical performance in SCH may contribute to an inactive lifestyle. Therefore, the present study aimed to compare physical activity levels (PALs) between women with subclinical hypothyroidism and healthy controls. Thirty-two women with newly diagnosed SCH and 28 healthy women were enrolled in this cross-sectional study. Arterial stiffness was evaluated by pulse wave velocity (PWV). Neuromuscular symptoms were questioned. Participants wore a physical activity monitor (SenseWear® Armband) for 4 consecutive days. Handgrip and quadriceps muscle strength were assessed by dynamometer. Functional exercise capacity was assessed by 6-minute walk test (6MWT). There was no significant difference in sociodemographic variables between the groups. PWV was significantly higher in the SCH group (P = 0.006). Physical activity duration and number of steps were significantly lower in the SCH group (P < 0.05). There was significant difference in neuromuscular symptoms, handgrip and quadriceps muscle strength, and 6MWT distance between the groups (P < 0.05). This study demonstrates that women with SCH had lower PALs compared to healthy controls. Women with SCH should participate in exercise programs to increase physical activity and muscle strength to achieve adequate PALs.

TL;DR: In this article, a series of new compounds containing formyl and imine groups were synthesized by the reaction of 1,2-bis(bromomethyl)benzene with benzaldehyde derivatives in the presence of NaOH.
Abstract: A series of new compounds containing formyl and imine group were synthesized. New formyl-substituted compounds were prepared by the reaction of 1,2-bis(bromomethyl)benzene with benzaldehyde derivatives in the presence of NaOH. New bis-crown ether imine compounds were prepared by the condensation of corresponding aldehydes with 4′-aminobenzo-15-crown-5. Sodium complexes of the bis-crown ethers form crystalline 2:1 (Na+:ligand) stoichiometries were also been synthesized. The prepared compounds were structurally confirmed by analytical and spectral data and evaluated for their antibacterial and antifungal activities. The results show that the antibacterial activity of compounds including o-methoxy group was significantly higher against S. epidermis compared to the other studied antimicrobial group.

31 Mar 2020TL;DR: In this paper, a generalized Gauss hypergeometric function and generalized confluent hypergeometrical function with Fox-Wright function were defined. And they obtained their integral representations, summation formulas, transformation formulas, derivative formulas and difference formulas.
Abstract: In this study, motivated by the frequent use of Fox-Wright function in the theory of special functions, we first introduced
new generalizations of gamma and beta functions with the help of Fox-Wright function. Then by using these functions,
we defined generalized Gauss hypergeometric function and generalized confluent hypergeometric function. For all the
generalized functions we have defined, we obtained their integral representations, summation formulas, transformation
formulas, derivative formulas and difference formulas. Also, we calculated the Mellin transformations of these functions
