TL;DR: Impact of process parameters variations on various design metrics of the proposed cell are presented and compared with conventional differential 6T (D6T), transmission gate-based 8T (TG8T), and single ended8T (SE8T) SRAM cells.
Abstract: Low power and noise tolerant static random access memory (SRAM) cells are in high demand today. This paper presents a stable differential SRAM cell that consumes low power. The proposed cell has similar structure to conventional 6T SRAM cell with the addition of two buffer transistors, one tail transistor and one complementary word line. Due to stacking effect, the proposed cell achieves lower power dissipation. In this paper, impact of process parameters variations on various design metrics of the proposed cell are presented and compared with conventional differential 6T (D6T), transmission gate-based 8T (TG8T), and single ended 8T (SE8T) SRAM cells. Impact of process variation, like threshold voltage and length, on different design metrics of an SRAM cell like, read static noise margin (RSNM), read access time ( ${T_{\mathrm{RA}}}$ ), and write access time ( ${T_{\mathrm{ WA}}} $ ) are also presented. The proposed cell achieves ${1.12{\times } /{\mathrm{ 1}}.{\mathrm{ 43}}{\times } /{\mathrm{ 5}}.{\mathrm{ 62}}\times } $ improvement in ${T_{\mathrm {RA}}}$ compared to TG8T/D6T/SE8T at a penalty of $ {1.1{\times } /{4}.{88}\times }$ in $ {T_{\mathrm{ WA}}} $ compared to D6T/TG8T and $ {1.19{\times } /1.18\times } $ in read/write power consumption compared to D6T. An improvement of $ {\rm 1.{\mathrm{ 12}}{\times } /{\mathrm{ 2}}.{\mathrm{ 15}}\times } $ in RSNM is observed compared to D6T/TG8T. The proposed cell consumes $ {5.38\times } $ less power during hold mode and also shows ${2.33\times } $ narrower spread in hold power @ $ {V_{\mathrm{ DD}} = 0.{\mathrm{ 4}}}$ V compared to D6T SRAM cell.

TL;DR: Inoculation of B. licheniformis HSW-16 protected wheat plants from growth inhibition caused by NaCl and increased plant growth in terms of root length, shoot length, fresh weight, and dry weight, suggesting it could be used as a bioinoculant to improve the productivity of plants growing under salt stress.
Abstract: Certain plant growth promoting bacteria can protect associated plants from harmful effects of salinity. We report the isolation and characterization of 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylic acid (ACC) deaminase bacterium Bacillus licheniformis HSW-16 capable of ameliorating salt (NaCl) stress in wheat plants. The bacterium was isolated from water of Sambhar salt lake, Rajasthan, India. The presence of ACC deaminase activity was confirmed by enzyme assay and analysis of AcdS gene, a structural gene for ACC deaminase. Inoculation of B. licheniformis HSW-16 protected wheat plants from growth inhibition caused by NaCl and increased plant growth (6-38%) in terms of root length, shoot length, fresh weight, and dry weight. Ionic analysis of plant samples showed that the bacterial inoculation decreased accumulation of Na+ content (51%), and increased K+ (68%), and Ca2+ content (32%) in plants at different concentration of NaCl. It suggested that bacterial inoculation protected plants from the effect of NaCl by decreasing level of Na+ in plants. Production of exopolysaccharide by the B. licheniformis HSW-16 can also protect from Na+ by binding this ion. Moreover, application of test isolate resulted in an increase in certain osmolytes such as total soluble sugar, total protein content and a decrease in malondialdehyde content, illustrating their role in the protection of plants. The ability of B. licheniformis HSW-16 to colonize plant root surface was examined by staining the bacterium with acridine orange followed by fluorescence microscopy and polymerase chain reaction (PCR)-based DNA fingerprinting analysis. These results suggested that B. licheniformis HSW-16 could be used as a bioinoculant to improve the productivity of plants growing under salt stress.

TL;DR: A detailed experimental and computational investigation of round metallic tubes subjected to quasi-static loading is presented in this article, where experiments were conducted wherein round aluminium and mild steel tubes of different diameter to thickness ratios were subjected to lateral compression in an Instron machine.
Abstract: A detailed experimental and computational investigation of round metallic tubes subjected to quasi-static loading is presented. Experiments were conducted wherein round aluminium and mild steel tubes of different diameter to thickness ratios were subjected to lateral compression in an Instron machine. Their deformation histories and load–compression curves were obtained. The deformation of the tubes has also been studied and analysed with the help of the finite element code FORGE2. Contours of nodal velocity, equivalent strain rate and equivalent strain at different stages of compression are presented and discussed. Experimental and computed results are compared. Basic mechanism of their deformation and the effects of process parameters on deformation behaviour of the tubes are presented and discussed.
