TL;DR: In the early 19th century, especially in Jacksonian America, America was experiencing a widespread and penetrating social transformation which was called by some historians "the market revolution" as a result of different conditions in all parts of America, the market revolution developed distinctively in different areas as discussed by the authors.
Abstract: In the early 19th century, especially in Jacksonian America,America was experiencing a widespread and penetrating social transformation which was called by some historians "the market revolution"As a result of different conditions in all parts of America, the market revolution developed distinctively in different areasWe can see clearly how the market revolution developed by observing the changes in social and economic development in northeast, west and south of America

TL;DR: In this paper, a method for secrecy enhancement based on exchanging the same parts of two masks is proposed, which can effectively remove the silhouette of the encrypted image constructed using just one mask.
Abstract: Recently, a new image hiding method based on optical interference was proposed. The image is hidden in two pure phase masks. However, the silhouette of the encrypted image can be obtained by using just one of these two masks, which reduces the secrecy of the algorithm. A method for secrecy enhancement based on exchanging the same parts of two masks is proposed. This method can effectively remove the silhouette of the encrypted image constructed using just one mask. Simulations are carried out to demonstrate the validity of this method.

TL;DR: SPORL was more effective than its corresponding DA pretreatment in reducing energy consumption for postpretreatment wood chip size‐reduction and produced higher sugar and ethanol production energy efficiencies than the correspondingDA pretreatment.
Abstract: This study reports comparative evaluations of sugar and ethanol production from a native aspen (Populus tremuloides) between sulfite pretreatment to overcome recalcitrance of lignocellulose (SPORL) and dilute acid (DA) pretreatments. All aqueous pretreatments were carried out in a laboratory wood pulping digester using wood chips at 170°C with a liquid to oven dry (od) wood ratio (L/W) of 3:1 at two levels of acid charge on wood of 0.56 and 1.11%. Sodium bisulfite charge on od wood was 0 for DA and 1.5 or 3.0% for SPORL. All substrates produced by both pretreatments (except DA with pretreatment duration of 0) had good enzymatic digestibility of over 80%. However, SPORL produced higher enzymatic digestibility than its corresponding DA pretreatment for all the experiments conducted. As a result, SPORL produced higher ethanol yield from simultaneous saccharification and fermentation of cellulosic substrate than its corresponding DA pretreatment. SPORL was more effective than its corresponding DA pretreatment in reducing energy consumption for postpretreatment wood chip size-reduction. SPORL, with lower energy input and higher sugar and ethanol yield, produced higher sugar and ethanol production energy efficiencies than the corresponding DA pretreatment.

TL;DR: It is suggested that Nanoscale phosphorene quantum dots with intense, stable and excitation wavelength-independent PL emission in the blue-violet region have a potential application as semiconductor-based blue- violet light irradiation sources.
Abstract: Nanoscale phosphorene quantum dots (PQDs) with few-layer structures were fabricated by pulsed laser ablation of a bulk black phosphorus target in diethyl ether. An intense and stable photoluminescence (PL) emission of the PQDs in the blue-violet wavelength region is clearly observed for the first time, which is attributed to electronic transitions from the lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO) to the highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) and occupied molecular orbitals below the HOMO (H-1, H-2), respectively. Surprisingly, the PL emission peak positions of the PQDs are not red-shifted with progressively longer excitation wavelengths, which is in contrast to the cases of graphene and molybdenum disulphide quantum dots. This excitation wavelength-independence is derived from the saturated passivation on the periphery and surfaces of the PQDs by large numbers of electron-donating functional groups which cause the electron density on the PQDs to be dramatically increased and the band gap to be insensitive to the quantum size effect in the PQDs. This work suggests that PQDs with intense, stable and excitation wavelength-independent PL emission in the blue-violet region have a potential application as semiconductor-based blue-violet light irradiation sources.

TL;DR: The results indicate ANUSPLIN precipitation surface is reliable and the precipitation variation show different regional and seasonal trend, which may affect spring ploughing and alteration of flood risk for this main rice-production areas of China.
Abstract: Climate changes significantly impact environmental and hydrological processes. Precipitation is one of the most significant climatic parameters and its variability and trends have great influences on environmental and socioeconomic development. We investigate the spatio-temporal variability of precipitation occurrence frequency, mean precipitation depth, PVI and total precipitation in China based on long-term precipitation series from 1961 to 2015. As China's topography is diverse and precipitation is affected by topography strongly, ANUSPLIN can model the effect of topography on precipitation effectively is adopted to generate the precipitation interpolation surface. Mann-Kendall trend analysis and simple linear regression was adopted to examine long-term trend for these indicators. The results indicate ANUSPLIN precipitation surface is reliable and the precipitation variation show different regional and seasonal trend. For example, there is a sporadic with decreasing frequency precipitation trend in spring and a uniform with increasing frequency trend in summer in Yangtze Plain, which may affect spring ploughing and alteration of flood risk for this main rice-production areas of China. In north-western China, there is a uniform with increasing precipitation frequency and intensity trend, which is beneficial for this arid region. Our study could be helpful for other counties with similar climate types.
