Abstract: Expansin loosens plant cell walls and involves in cell enlargement and various abiotic stresses. Plant expansin superfamily contains four subfamilies: α-expansin (EXPA), β-expansin (EXPB), expansin-like A (EXLA), and expansin-like B (EXLB). In this work, we performed a comprehensive study on the molecular characterization, phylogenetic relationship and expression profiling of common wheat (Triticum aestivum) expansin gene family using the recently released wheat genome database (IWGSC RefSeq v1.1 with a coverage rate of 94%). Genome-wide analysis identified 241 expansin genes in the wheat genome, which were grouped into three subfamilies (EXPA, EXPB and EXLA) by phylogenetic tree. Molecular structure analysis showed that wheat expansin gene family showed high evolutionary conservation although some differences were present in different subfamilies. Some key amino acid sites that contribute to functional divergence, positive selection, and coevolution were detected. Evolutionary analysis revealed that wheat expansin gene superfamily underwent strong positive selection. The transcriptome map and qRT-PCR analysis found that wheat expansin genes had tissue/organ expression specificity and preference, and generally highly expressed in the roots. The expression levels of some expansin genes were significantly induced by NaCl and polyethylene glycol stresses, which was consistent with the differential distribution of the cis-elements in the promoter region. Wheat expansin gene family showed high evolutionary conservation and wide range of functional divergence. Different selection constraints may influence the evolution of the three expansin subfamilies. The different expression patterns demonstrated that expansin genes could play important roles in plant growth and abiotic stress responses. This study provides new insights into the structures, evolution and functions of wheat expansin gene family.

Abstract: In this paper, we extend the method in [TZhu5] to study the energy level $L(\\cdot)$ of Perelman's entropy $\\lambda(\\cdot)$ for K\\\"ahler-Ricci flow on a Fano manifold. Consequently, we first compute the supremum of $\\lambda(\\cdot)$ in K\\\"ahler class $2\\pi c_1(M)$ under an assumption that the modified Mabuchi's K-energy $\\mu(\\cdot)$ defined in [TZhu2] is bounded from below. Secondly, we give an alternative proof to the main theorem about the convergence of K\\\"ahler-Ricci flow in [TZhu3].

Abstract: Climate change is one of the most important factors that affect vegetation distribution in North China. Among all climatic factors, drought is considered to have the most significant effect on the environment. Based on previous studies, the climate drought index can be used to assess the evolutionary trend of the ecological environment under various arid climatic conditions. It is necessary for us to further explore the relationship between vegetation coverage (index) and climate drought conditions. Therefore, in this study, based on MODIS-NDVI products and meteorological observation data, the Palmer Drought Severity Index (PDSI) and vegetation coverage in North China were first calculated. Then, the interannual variations of PDSI and vegetation coverage during 2001–2013 were analyzed using a Theil-Sen slope estimator. Finally, an ecoregion perspective of the correlation between them was discussed. The experimental results demonstrated that the PDSI index and vegetation coverage value varied over different ecoregions. During the period 2001–2013, vegetation coverage increased in the southern and northern mountains of North China, while it showed a decreasing trend in the Beijing-Tianjin-Tangshan City Circle area and suburban agricultural zone located in Hebei Province and Henan Province). Over 13 years, the climate of the northeastern part of North China became more humid, while in the southern part of North China, it tended to be dry. According to the correlation analysis results, 73.37% of North China showed a positive correlation between the vegetation coverage and climate drought index. A negative correlation was observed mainly in urban and suburban areas of Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei Province, and Henan Province. In most parts of North China, drought conditions in summer and autumn had a strong influence on vegetation coverage.

Abstract: We study an optical cavity coupled to a lattice of Rydberg atoms, which can be represented by a generalized Dicke model. We show that the competition between the atom-atom interaction and atom-light coupling induces a rich phase diagram. A novel superradiant solid (SRS) phase is found, where both the superradiance and crystalline orders coexist. Different from the normal second order superradiance transition, here both the solid-1/2 and SRS to SR phase transitions are first order. Abstract: We study the quantum separability problem by using general symmetric informationally complete measurements and present separability criteria for both $$d$$d-dimensional bipartite and multipartite systems. The criterion for bipartite quantum states is effective in detecting several well-known classes of quantum states. For isotropic states, it becomes both necessary and sufficient. Furthermore, our criteria can be experimentally implemented, and the criterion for two-qudit states requires less local measurements than the one based on mutually unbiased measurements.
