TL;DR: In this article, a co-gasification of empty fruit bunches of palm oil was used to enhance hydrogen production by adding charcoal, which resulted in a much higher yield of hydrogen than lower charcoal ratios.
Abstract: Hydrogen production by co-gasification of empty fruit bunches of palm oil could be enhanced by adding charcoal. Physiochemical characterization of raw feedstocks was performed to determine their exergy potentiality. The raw feedstocks, gasified charcoal, and the end product of produced gas were analyzed by different techniques. Gasification experiments were performed using a pilot-scale downdraft gasifier. The heating value, composition of product gas, yield of hydrogen, and exergy efficiency were used to verify the improvement of hydrogen production during the co-gasification process. Charcoal with empty fruit bunches of palm oil leads to a much higher yield of hydrogen than lower charcoal ratios or solely empty fruit bunches. This enhanced hydrogen fuel can contribute to future energy demand.

TL;DR: In this article, the development in nanomaterials based on modified electrodes which utilize the advantages of high electrocatalytic ability and high surface area due to their nanostructured morphology is reviewed.
Abstract: In recent years, dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) have received widespread attention due to their low cost compared to conventional silicon photovoltaic cells. However, to reach optimal device efficiencies, much work is still required. Nanotechnology opens a door to creating various nanostructures and tailing materials for use in DSSCs. Here we reviewed the development in nanomaterials based on modified electrodes which utilize the advantages of high electrocatalytic ability and high surface area due to their nanostructured morphology. This review highlights recent developments in DSSCs and their key components with respect to nanostructured modification, which will provide deep insights and guidance for researchers to design and develop cost-effective and efficient DSSCs.

TL;DR: This dissertation aims to provide a history of biotechnology in Bangladesh and some of the techniques used in the development of this discipline have been developed in Bangladesh.
Abstract: Objectives: Iron Deficiency Anemia (IDA), a global public health problem may have an inimical effect on thyroid function, especially in women and children This study was conducted to inspect the correlation between IDA and thyroid disorders in women of Bangladesh Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted among 452 women of different age groups in particular regions of Bangladesh presenting anemic symptoms and were confirmed anemic after testing of serum hemoglobin levels less than 12 g/dL To identify the correlation between iron deficiency anemia and thyroid disorders; serum samples were tested quantitatively through standardized methods considering serum iron, total iron-binding capacity (TIBC), ferritin, thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), free thyroxin (FT4), and vitamin D levels as parameters Post clinical diagnosis statistical analysis, graphical presentations of the complex clinical data was generated using advanced computer programming language and bio-analytical tools Results: A positive correlation between hypothyroidism and IDA in women was discovered in this study as 2469% of patients with IDA from 0-60 years were found suffering from hypothyroidism simultaneously; with the highest percentage (3846%) amongst the 31-40 years of age and 26% of iron-deficient females of reproductive age (15-49 years) were suffering from hypothyroidism Moreover, the association between congenital hypothyroidism and IDA was noticed in 50% of cases above all Conclusion: Hypothyroidism was found quite common among the women of different age groups who were previously reported with acute to chronic anemia symptoms due to iron deficiency

TL;DR: In this article, the authors have applied systems approach that can be used to study and understand the behavior of a complex system over time which is characterized by interdependence, mutual interaction, information feedback and circular causality.
Abstract: The beef cattle industry recorded progressive growth in the last two decades. Despite this growth, suppliers are having difficulty to meet the domestic demand for beef. Continued strong growth of beef cattle production capacity depends on supplier profitability, which in turn will be influenced by primarily on availability of feedstuffs that constitutes a large proportion of the cost of production. The policy design and management of beef cattle production systems in Malaysia is challenging since imported beef is much more profitable. To this end, the research has applied systems approach that can be used to study and understand the behavior of a complex system over time which is characterized by interdependence, mutual interaction, information feedback and circular causality. The results indicate that low beef price and feed cost ratio would worsen beef cattle production. However, development of grazing and fodder area and genetic improvement boost the beef cattle production significantly by 2020. The results of this research support the idea that the best policies to obtain the targeted self-sufficiency level is through importation of animal for breeding, minimized rate of beef cattle mortality, increased fertility and the conduct of training in feed efficiency management.
