TL;DR: In this article, a method of forming an oxide coating on an aluminum surface having a controlled surface resistance and if sufficiently thick have an integral color by treating the aluminum surface with a neutral or slightly basic aqueous solution containing at least 0.001 gm/liter of a difficultly soluble magnesium compound expressed as MgCO3 was proposed.
Abstract: This invention relates to a method of forming an oxide coating on an aluminum surface having a controlled surface resistance and if sufficiently thick have an integral color by treating the aluminum surface with a neutral or slightly basic aqueous solution containing at least 0.001 gm/liter of a difficultly soluble magnesium compound expressed as MgCO3. The temperature of the bath should exceed 65° C and the pH should range from about 7 to 9.

TL;DR: In this paper, the development, testing, installation, and operation of 69Kv ungrounded neutral tee joints for a crosslinked polyethylene (XLPE) cable circuit, which is the sole supply for a downtown urban renewal area in Lexington, Kentucky, is described.
Abstract: This reports the development, testing, installation, and operation of 69Kv ungrounded neutral tee joints for a crosslinked polyethylene (XLPE) cable circuit, which is the sole supply for a downtown urban renewal area in Lexington, Kentucky. The total circuit length is 3030 feet, consisting of three sections, the longest being 1630 feet. Conductor connections were made with a heat-fusion process. Joint dielectric consisted of self-amalgamating ethylene propylene tape. The circuit has been in operation since the late Spring of 1971.

TL;DR: The 7xxx series aluminum alloy is capable of meeting strength levels in excess of 65 KSI/450 MPa yield tensile strength, 69 KSI /480 MPa ultimate tensile strengths and 11% elongation as mentioned in this paper.
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a 7xxx series aluminum alloy composition comprising, consisting essentially of, or consisting of (by weight %) of 1.0-1.8% Mg; 7.0-8.3% Zn; 0.10-0.25% Zr; with up to 0.80% Cu and allowable impurities of 0.3% Si, 0.4% Fe, 0.4% Mn, and 0.1% Ti, with other elements restricted as unavoidable impurities limited to 0.05% each and 0.15% total and MgZn2 range of 7.0-9.9% with the balance being aluminum. This 7xxx series aluminum alloy is capable of being produced to achieve its maximum strength by quenching from an elevated hot working operation, such as extrusion, forging or rolling. In one embodiment the alloy is capable of meeting strength levels in excess of 65 KSI /450 MPa yield tensile strength, 69 KSI /480 MPa ultimate tensile strength and 11% elongation.

TL;DR: In this article, the concept of leak-before-breach was introduced, which assumes the presence of a flaw, and further requires that the vessel shall not fail catastrophically, even though the flaw penetrates completely through the wall.
Abstract: Aluminum alloy vessels have had a successful record in cryogenic service for about a decade. Most of these applications have been under moderate pressure, i.e., under 100 psig. Recently, interest has developed in cryogenic aluminum vessels to operate at higher pressures. Safety considerations for one such application include the concept of “leak before break.” This concept assumes the presence of a flaw, and further requires that the vessel shall not fail catastrophically, even though the flaw penetrates completely through the wall.
