Abstract: We consider a setting where one has to organize one or several group activities for a set of agents. Each agent will participate in at most one activity, and her preferences over activities depend on the number of participants in the activity. The goal is to assign agents to activities based on their preferences. We put forward a general model for this setting, which is a natural generalization of anonymous hedonic games. We then focus on a special case of our model, where agents' preferences are binary, i.e., each agent classifies all pairs of the form "(activity, group size)" into ones that are acceptable and ones that are not. We formulate several solution concepts for this scenario, and study them from the computational point of view, providing hardness results for the general case as well as efficient algorithms for settings where agents' preferences satisfy certain natural constraints.

Abstract: We consider a two-player zero-sum game, given by a Markov chain over a finite set of states and a family of matrix games indexed by states. The sequence of states follows the Markov chain. At the beginning of each stage, only Player 1 is informed of the current state, then the corresponding matrix game is played, and the actions chosen are observed by both players before proceeding to the next stage. We call such a game a Markov chain game with lack of information on one side. This model generalizes the model of Aumann and Maschler of zero-sum repeated games with lack of information on one side (which corresponds to the case where the transition matrix of the Markov chain is the identity matrix). We generalize the proof of Aumann and Maschler and, from the definition and the study of appropriate nonrevealing auxiliary games with infinitely many stages, show the existence of the uniform value. An important difference with Aumann and Maschler's model is that here the notions for Player 1 of using the information and revealing a relevant information are distinct.

Abstract: This research work concerns the perceptual evaluation of the performance of information systems (IS) and more particularly, the construct of user satisfaction. Faced with the difficulty of obtaining objective measures for the success of IS, user satisfaction appeared as a substitutive measure of IS performance (DeLone & McLean, 1992). Some researchers have indeed shown that the evaluation of an IS could not happen without an analysis of the feelings and perceptions of individuals who make use of it. Consequently, the concept of satisfaction has been considered as a guarantee of the performance of an IS. Also it has become necessary to ponder the drivers of user satisfaction. The analysis of models and measurement tools for satisfaction as well as the adoption of a contingency perspective has allowed the description of principal dimensions that have a direct or less direct impact on user perceptionsThe case study of a large French group, carried out through an interpretativist approach conducted by way of 41 semi-structured interviews, allowed the conceptualization of the problematique of perceptual evaluation of IS in a particular field study. This study led us to confirm the impact of certain factors (such as perceived usefulness, participation, the quality of relations with the IS Function and its resources and also the fit of IS with user needs). On the contrary, other dimensions regarded as fundamental do not receive any consideration or see their influence nuanced in the case studied (the properties of IS, the ease of use, the quality of information). Lastly, this study has allowed for the identification of the influence of certain contingency and contextual variables on user satisfaction and, above all, for the description of the importance of interactions between the IS Function and the users

Abstract: This paper considers the questions of convergence of: (i) MUSCL type (i.e. second-order, TVD) finite-difference approximations towards the entropic weak solution of scalar, one-dimensional conservation laws with strictly convex flux and (ii) higher-order schemes (filtered to ``preserve'' an upper-bound on some weak second-order finite differences) towards the viscosity solution of scalar, multi-dimensional Hamilton-Jacobi equations with convex Hamiltonians.
