TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used single-pass and multi-pass hot-deformation schedules on HSLA steel samples and found that heavy deformation of metastable austenite below Ae3, developed ultra-fine ferrite grains (15o misorientation) boundaries (>70%), and encouraged the formation of beneficial g-fibre ((ND// ) components along with {332} and {554} texture components, minimising the intensity of harmful ‘cube’ texture.
Abstract: Plane-strain compression testing on HSLA steel samples using single-pass and multi-pass hot-deformation schedules showed that heavy deformation of metastable austenite below Ae3, developed ultra-fine ferrite grains ( 15o misorientation) boundaries (>70%), and encouraged the formation of beneficial g-fibre ((ND// ) components along with {332} and {554} texture components, minimising the intensity of harmful ‘cube’ texture.

TL;DR: In this article, the formation and evolution of textures through different processing stages of hot rolling, cold rolling and annealing have brought out many unique features, e.g. presence of complete and almost ideal fibre axes, inheritance of texture, texture memory effect and parallels between single crystal and polycrystalline situations.
Abstract: Textures in low-carbon steels are of great significance in view of their strong influence on important physical properties such as formability and magnetic induction. Recent studies on the formation and evolution of textures through different processing stages of hot rolling, cold rolling and annealing have brought out many unique features, e.g. presence of complete and almost ideal fibre axes, inheritance of texture, texture memory effect and parallels between single crystal and polycrystalline situations. In particular, it has been possible to develop a fairly cogent picture of the genesis and perpetuation of the Goss texture.

TL;DR: In this paper, a tensile tensile test is carried out to determine values of activation area and proper interpretation of these results may provide considerable information on dislocation activities during deformation.

TL;DR: In this paper, experiments were described in which square cross-section long rods were made to impinge normally on nominally rigid target plates as well as on soft targets of comparable strength.
Abstract: Studies of long rod impact are almost invariably associated with rods of circular cross-section, but in this paper experiments are described in which square cross-section long rods were made to impinge normally on nominally rigid target plates as well as on ‘soft’ targets of comparable strength. Plasticine has been used as the model material to simulate metallic projectiles and targets. The various modes of deformation and flow associated with square section rod projectiles have been identified and compared with those observed earlier by Johnson et al. (5)¶ in a study using long rods of circular cross-section.
