TL;DR: In this article, the authors construct market segmentation as a performative process and examine the role of marketing theories, models, ideas and techniques in marketing practice, and identify four sets of actions organizations can experience as their actors attempt to adopt and adapt a marketing process to the complexities of practice.
Abstract: Conceptualising market segmentation as performative enhances our knowledge of how marketing frameworks shape marketing practice. Our study addresses the criticism that how marketing is accomplished in practice has yet to be fully articulated. We therefore address the question: ‘How does a market segmentation process emerge in an organisation and what causes it to materialise in this way?’ By constructing market segmentation as performative, we are able to draw insight into the relationships that marketing theories, models, ideas and techniques have with marketing practice. Our longitudinal study allows us to discern four sets of actions organisations can experience as their actors attempt to adopt and adapt a marketing process to the complexities of practice; these are establishing legitimacy, theory embodiment, contextualisation and maintaining the process.

Abstract: Openness in education is an evolving concept which is shaped by the changing needs of societies, cultures, geographies, and economies, thus, it does not have a precise definition. By focusing on four sets of generic keywords - open education, open learning, open educational resources (OERs), and open educational practices (OEPs) - this paper examines research in openness in education through a systematic review of peer reviewed literature. In doing so, the researchers sought to draw attention to existing trends and patterns and possible future trajectories of openness in education. Content analysis, social network analysis, and text-mining are the methods used for data collection and analysis. Findings show that there has been growing interest on openness in education, particularly on OERs, across different fields. Findings also point to OEPs as an emerging area of study, which offers a fertile ground for future research. However, on closer inspection, a divide can be observed between the global north and global south in terms of research output.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors report on the key CSR strategies, activities and attitudes of small business owners in a South Australian regional area with regard to the key stakeholders, towards developing socially and environmentally responsible small businesses.
Abstract: Purpose – This paper aims to report on the key CSR strategies, activities and attitudes of small business owners in a South Australian regional area with regard to the key stakeholders, towards developing socially and environmentally responsible small businesses.Design/methodology/approach – The investigation was conducted collaboratively between the University of South Australia's Centre for Regional Engagement (CRE) and the Whyalla Economic Development Board (WEDB), using an interview‐driven, qualitative design.Findings – It was found that the small business owners in Whyalla were supportive of their stakeholders, especially the local community, because it was the right thing to do and was generally beneficial to their business.Research limitations/implications – It is acknowledged that this type of research design limits the degree to which the results can be generalised, as the sample was limited and questions on environmental issues can be misunderstood and misinterpreted.Practical implications – The...

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors give several characterizations of almost P-frames, mostly in terms of certain ring-theoretic properties of $${\mathcal{R}}L$$, the ring of realvalued functions on L.
Abstract: Almost P-frames generalize almost P-spaces, and indeed transcend them. In this article we give several characterizations of these frames, mostly in terms of certain ring-theoretic properties of $${\mathcal{R}}L$$
, the ring of real-valued functions on L.
