TL;DR: LEK can contribute to adaptive management strategies that enhance resilience of socioecological systems (SES) in the face of climate change by providing information on the status and use of biophysical components of the environment and by highlighting potential local adaptation strategies that can sustain key livelihood practices.
Abstract: Understanding local community perceptions on impacts, causes, and responses to climate change is vital for promotion of community resilience towards climate change. This study explored local ecological knowledge (LEK) held by local communities on climate change trends and impacts in the Middle Zambezi Biosphere Reserve (MZBR), Zimbabwe. The objectives of the study were to (i) investigate local community perceptions on trends and causes of climate change, (ii) identify biophysical impacts of climate change at the local level, and (iii) explore the ecosystem-based adaptation strategies towards climate change. The study used a mixed methods approach where a household questionnaire survey (n=320), key informant interviews (n=12), and focus group discussions (n=8) were used to collect data between April 2015 and October 2016. Results from the study show that local communities have observed decreasing rainfall and increasing temperatures as key indicators of climate change. Local communities observed water scarcity, changes in vegetation phenology, livestock and wildlife mortalities, and food shortages due to drought as the major impacts on their livelihoods. LEK can contribute to adaptive management strategies that enhance resilience of socioecological systems (SES) in the face of climate change by providing information on the status and use of biophysical components of the environment and by highlighting potential local adaptation strategies that can sustain key livelihood practices.

TL;DR: Perceptions of work- and person-related bullying were linked to low levels of vigor and dedication which in turn were associated with high turnover intention, and work engagement partially mediated the effect of high workplace bullying on high turnover intend.
Abstract: Employees' turnover intentions may entail expensive consequences for companies. The study examined the mediating effect of work engagement in the relationship between workplace bullying and turnover intention. Using a cross-sectional sample of 373 employees, structural equation modeling and mediation analysis showed that perceptions of work- and person-related bullying were linked to low levels of vigor and dedication which in turn were associated with high turnover intention. Work engagement partially mediated the effect of high workplace bullying on high turnover intention. The results were interpreted from a social cognitive perspective and recommendations for practice were made.

TL;DR: The nature of a phishing attack with the security services guidelines provided is compared and the weakness(es) of phishing attacks if these guidelines are adhered to are pinpointed.
Abstract: 'Phishing' is a fraudulent activity defined as the creation of a replica of an existing Web page to fool a user into submitting personal, financial, or password data. There are security service guidelines for both software security and web site security development environments. Developers use these guidelines when planning new systems (or during re-engineering of existing systems) to ensure a secure environment. The purpose of this paper is two-fold: firstly to consider the characteristics of a phishing attack and to identify a list of issues relevant to it; and secondly, to compare the nature of a phishing attack with the security services guidelines provided and to pinpoint the weakness(es) of phishing attacks if these guidelines are adhered to.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors make use of a multiple linear regression model to determine the variables that impact positively on business growth and find that smaller and younger businesses are the ones that grow faster.
Abstract: Entrepreneurial conduct holds the key to economic growth. Thus those business that show growth and development are considered entrepreneurial, implying that SMME policy initiatives should focus on businesses with growth potential, and not the small business sector as a whole. The success of a small business seems to depend on the intentions of the owner, together with factors associated with the ability of, and opportunity for, the specific business to grow. The aim of this article is to make use of a multiple linear regression model to determine the variables that impact positively on business growth. In addition to demand factors, it was established that smaller and younger businesses are the ones that grow faster. A successful business also shows a positive correlation between business management skills and entrepreneurial conduct.
