TL;DR: The synthesized sodium alginate cross-linked acrylic acid/graphite based hybrid hydrogel composite was utilized in the removal of malachite green (MG) dye from aqueous solution using batch adsorption experiments and is a potentially favourable material towards dye pollution remediation.

TL;DR: In this paper, the main physical properties of p-type Co3O4 nanoparticles for the first time by a completely green chemistry process using Aspalathus linearis's natural extract as an effective chelating agent are reported.
Abstract: This study reports on the bio-synthesis and the main physical properties of p-type Co3O4 nanoparticles for the first time by a completely green chemistry process using Aspalathus linearis's natural extract as an effective chelating agent. Their surface/interface and optical properties are reported. In addition to the X-ray diffraction investigations, the Raman, and infrared as well as X-ray photoelectron spectroscopies confirmed the single phase of the Co3O4 nanoparticles. As their average size can be as low as ⟨φparticle⟩ ∼3.6 nm, the reticular atomic plans are under a slight compressive state.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors define and explain the front end of product innovation as a discrete segment of development between research and product development, and find that significant development takes place before projects enter into a firm's formal product development process.

TL;DR: The importance of considering traumatic events in the context of other traumas in South Africa is highlighted, and findings also support a cumulative effect of trauma exposure.
Abstract: Using nationally representative data from South Africa, we examine lifetime prevalence of traumas and multiple traumas (number of events). Employing multiple regression analysis, the authors study the sociodemographic risk of trauma, and the association between trauma and distress. Results indicate most South Africans experience at least one traumatic event during their lives, with the majority reporting multiple. Consistent variation in risk is evident for gender and marital status, but not other sociodemographics. Trauma is positively related to high distress, and findings also support a cumulative effect of trauma exposure. Individuals with the most traumas (6+) appear at 5 times greater risk of high distress. This study highlights the importance of considering traumatic events in the context of other traumas in South Africa.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors compared various definitions of directional derivatives in topological vector spaces and pointed out that in the case of finite-dimensional spaces and locally Lipschitz mappings, all these concepts of directional differentiability are equivalent.
Abstract: Various definitions of directional derivatives in topological vector spaces are compared. Directional derivatives in the sense of Gâteaux, Frechet, and Hadamard are singled out from the general framework of σ-directional differentiability. It is pointed out that, in the case of finite-dimensional spaces and locally Lipschitz mappings, all these concepts of directional differentiability are equivalent. The chain rule for directional derivatives of a composite mapping is discussed.
