23 Nov 2017TL;DR: In this article, a subtoken corresponding to a primary token is generated, which allows a user to conduct a transaction from his or her account, while still providing security for the users sensitive data.
Abstract: According to one embodiment of the invention, a subtoken corresponding to a primary token is generated. The primary token corresponds to a credential. The credential may be, for example, a primary account number (PAN) corresponding to a payment account. The subtoken may be a temporary, one-time use subtoken based on a primary token associated with the credential that allows a user to conduct a transaction from his or her account, while still providing security for the users sensitive data. The subtoken may contain a header and an obfuscated portion. The header of the subtoken routes the subtoken to the entity issuing the subtoken for translation into the primary token. The obfuscated portion acts as a pointer to the primary token and data associated with the primary token. A same check digit may be included in the subtoken, the primary token, and the credential, in order to ensure that the transaction is not improperly denied.

09 Oct 2008TL;DR: In this article, a database for storing program expiration parameters associated with an issuer prepaid card program; a set of card accounts created under the issuer prepaid Card Program, wherein each card account has an expiration date for a prepaid card associated with the card account; and one or more customized expiration parameters for the set of accounts.
Abstract: A prepaid card processing system is operable for processing customized expiration dates of prepaid cards. The prepaid card processing system includes a database for storing program expiration parameters associated with an issuer prepaid card program; a set of card accounts created under the issuer prepaid card program, wherein each card account has an expiration date for a prepaid card associated with the card account; and one or more customized expiration parameters for the set of card accounts. The prepaid card processing system is operable to determine the expiration date for the prepaid card associated with the card account based on the program expiration parameters and the customized expiration parameters for the set of card accounts.

29 Aug 2012TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a rules suggestion engine that suggests rules to a user for reducing fraud in future transactions, based on at least one attribute defined by the user and one or more key indicators.
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention are directed to systems and methods for implementing a rules suggestion engine that suggests rules to a user for lowering fraud in future transactions. Embodiments of the invention segment the transaction data based on at least one attribute defined by the user. One or more key indicators are identified corresponding to the segmented data. A correlation is performed between the user defined attribute and one or more key indicators. One or more transaction rules are generated based on the correlation that are suggested to the user for future transactions. The user can customize the rule, a field of rule, a prioritization of the rules, and even create categories of rules.

20 Jul 2012TL;DR: In this paper, a gateway device and methods performed therein to prevent unauthorized client devices from connecting to the host network of the gateway device is described, which is only known to the gateway and authorized client devices.
Abstract: A gateway device and methods performed therein to prevent unauthorized client devices from connecting to the host network of the gateway device is described. The gateway device does not respond right away to an individual client message sent to the gateway device. Instead, the gateway device only responds to a predetermined sequence of the client messages, which is only known to the gateway device and authorized client devices. Because the gateway device will not respond to random client messages and the likelihood that an unauthorized client device can correctly guess the predetermined sequence of the client messages is low, the risk of a malicious party being able to hack into the host network, for example, by using port scanning techniques, can be mitigated.
