Abstract
The synthesis and characterization of μ-η 2 :η 2 peroxo dinuclear copper(II) complexes which to oxyhemocyanin (or oxytyrosinase) in their physicochemical properties are presented. The low-temperature reaction of a di-μ-hydroxo copper(II) complex [Cu(HB(3,5-i-Pr 2 pz) 3 )] 2 (OH) 2 (8) with H 2 O 2 gave a μ-peroxo complex [Cu(HB(3,5-i-Pr 2 pz) 3 )] 2 (O 2 ) (6)

High-resolution iron X-ray absorption spectroscopic and computational studies of non-heme diiron peroxo intermediates.

TL;DR: The ability of high-energy resolution fluorescence detected X-ray absorption spectroscopy (HERFD XAS) to provide insight into the nature of peroxo level intermediates in non-heme diiron proteins is explored and the utility of HERFDXAS for future studies of enzymatic intermediates is discussed.

Copper-based bioinspired oxygenation and glyoxalase-like reactivity.

TL;DR: This chemically unprecedented one-pot conversion of acetone to lactate occurs as a multistep process in the gluconeogenic pathway catalyzed by P450 isozyme 3a and Ni- or Zn-based glyoxalases, and an inner-sphere oxidation/isomerization mechanism is proposed.

Dancing multiplicity states supported by a carboxylated group in dicopper structures bonded to O 2

TL;DR: In this article, the role of the αSp ligand constraints and the counterion in the formation of a bridge butterfly μ-η2:η 2-peroxo dicopper core structure stabilized by the direct interaction of a carboxylate group was investigated.

Structure-based calculation of multi-donor multi-acceptor fluorescence resonance energy transfer in the 4×6-mer tarantula hemocyanin

TL;DR: The results explain for the first time, on a molecular basis, why fluorescence quantum yield can be used as an intrinsic signal for oxygen load of at least one arthropod hemocyanin, in particular that from the tarantula.

Effects of tris(pyrazolyl)borato ligand substituents on dioxygen activation and stabilization by copper compounds.

TL;DR: Density functional theory calculations reveal that the type of bridging oxygen, peroxo, or bisoxo is strongly influenced by the nature and position of the R substituents because of variable substituent...bridging oxygen interactions, as well as electronic effects.
