TLDR
In this article, a numerical shallow conical shell model is proposed, and the displacement fields of the shell model are described via the first-order shear deformation theory, considering the rotating speed, the governing equation of the rotating pre-twisted laminated conical shells is derived, and then solved using the meshless kp-Ritz method.

Frequency and critical angular velocity characteristics of rotary laminated cantilever microdisk via two-dimensional analysis

TL;DR: In this paper, the amplitude and vibrational characteristics of a rotating laminated cantilever microdisk were analyzed using a 3D finite element model using ABAQUS software, and the results showed that if the structure is made of an even number of layers, the frequency response of the system would be better, especially at the smaller values of the radius ratio.

Meshless numerical approach to flutter analysis of rotating pre-twisted nanocomposite blades subjected to supersonic airflow

TL;DR: In this paper, the flutter analysis of a rotating pre-twisted GPLRC blade under supersonic airflow is investigated, and the performance of the IMLS-Ritz method for this problem is validated by comprehensive convergence studies and careful comparison studies.

Predicting vibration characteristics of rotating composite blades containing CNT-reinforced composite laminae and damaged fiber-reinforced composite laminae

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the vibration behaviors of rotating pre-twisted hybrid composite blades containing functionally graded carbon nanotube-reinforced composite (FG-CNTRC) laminae and damaged fiber reinforced composite (FRC), and derived a novel shell model to describe the kinetics of the blade.

Mechanics of Laminated Composite Plates and Shells : Theory and Analysis, Second Edition

TL;DR: The use of composite materials in engineering structures continues to increase dramatically, and there have been significant advances in modeling for general and composite materials and structures in particular as discussed by the authors. But the use of composites is not limited to the aerospace domain.

A stabilized conforming nodal integration for Galerkin mesh-free methods

TL;DR: In this paper, a strain smoothing stabilization for nodal integration is proposed to eliminate spatial instability in nodal integrations, where an integration constraint is introduced as a necessary condition for a linear exactness in the mesh-free Galerkin approximation.

Nonlinear bending of functionally graded carbon nanotube-reinforced composite plates in thermal environments

TL;DR: In this article, the nonlinear bending of simply supported, functionally graded nanocomposite plates reinforced by single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) subjected to a transverse uniform or sinusoidal load in thermal environments is investigated.

Reproducing Kernel Particle Methods for large deformation analysis of non-linear structures

TL;DR: In this paper, a material kernel function and an RKPM material shape function are introduced for large deformation analysis of non-linear elastic and inelastic structures based on Reproducing Kernel Particle Methods (RKPM).

Carbon nanotube-based hierarchical composites: a review

TL;DR: In this article, two alternative strategies for forming CNT-based hierarchical composites are contrasted, the dispersion of CNTs into the composite matrix and their direct attachment onto the primary fibre surface.
