Toxicity Assessment of Iron Oxide Nanoparticles in Zebrafish (Danio rerio) Early Life Stages
TL;DR: This study is one of the first on developmental toxicity in fish caused by iron oxide nanoparticles in aquatic environments and will contribute to the current understanding of the potential ecotoxicological effects of nanoparticles and support the sustainable development of nanotechnology.
Journal ArticleDOI
Green roofs in European climates. Are effective solutions for the energy savings in air-conditioning?
TL;DR: In this article, a large parametric analysis evaluates the technical and economical feasibility of green roofs applied to a modern office building, considering various vegetations and different external coatings, and shows that green roofs show satisfactory performance if monthly rainfalls do not imply significant additional watering.

Quantitation of fiber quality and the cotton production-processing interface: a physiologist's perspective.
TL;DR: A cotton physiologist working in production research examines the interface between cotton production and processing in terms of the fiber properties currently quantified by the USDA-AMS cotton-classing offices, describes the measurement protocols available, and investigates possible environmental sources of the significant variations in fiber quality that reduce grower and processor profits.
Journal ArticleDOI
The influence of UV aging of a Styrene/Butadiene/Styrene modified bitumen: Comparison between laboratory and on site aging
TL;DR: In this paper, the Fourier Transformed InfraRed (FTIR) analysis was used to compare three types of ageing: the standard simulated ageings, the actual on-site ageing after 12 and 26 months of road service and the ageing when UV exposure in a weathering oven follows RTFOT simulation.
