Journal ArticleDOI

The kinetics of zinc dissolution in aerated sodium sulphate solutions. A measurement of the corrosion rate by impedance techniques

TL;DR: A dissolution model involving the relaxation of adsorbed species has been put forward and a satisfactory agreement was obtained from a comparison between the experimental and simulated I-V curves and a.c. impedance diagrams as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Hardened properties of self-compacting concrete with different crumb rubber size and content

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of crumb rubber size and content on hardened characteristics of self-compacting concrete was investigated and the results showed that the use of crumbs had a negative effect on the hardened properties of concretes and the significant improvement was achieved with addition of all tire wastes types, for ductility.
Journal ArticleDOI

Development of fatigue crack growth in real structures

TL;DR: In this paper, several examples for fatigue crack growth in machines and components are shown, and the reason for failures can be found in misconstructions, inappropriate fatigue strength calculations as well as material and manufacturing imperfections.
Journal ArticleDOI

Modulus−suction−moisture relationship for compacted soils

TL;DR: In this article, an experimental laboratory study of the shear modulus -matric suction and moisture content-dry unit weight relationship using three compacted subgrade soils was conducted.
Journal ArticleDOI

Ceramic materials for porcelain veneers. Part I: Correlation between translucency parameters and contrast ratio

TL;DR: Either CR or TP can be used to evaluate the relative translucency of ceramic systems, and a significant correlation between CR and TP was found when all specimens were included.
