Journal ArticleDOI

Quality of Wood and Charcoal from Eucalyptus Clones for Ironmaster Use

TL;DR: In this paper, the properties of wood and charcoal from different clones of Eucalyptus spp. were evaluated and the samples were from a clonal, located in the city of Lassance, Minas Gerais, Brazil.
Journal ArticleDOI

Durability of self-consolidating concrete to different exposure regimes of sodium sulfate attack

TL;DR: In this paper, the durability of self-consolidating concrete (SCC) mixture designs to sodium sulfate attack was investigated in three different SCC exposure regimes (full immersion, wetting-drying and partial immersion).
Journal ArticleDOI

Thermal stability and pozzolanic activity of raw and calcined mixed-layer mica/smectite

TL;DR: In this article, synthetic mixed-layer mica/smectite samples were calcined at 560°C, 760°C and 960°C. Chemical, physical and mineralogical properties of both untreated and calcined samples, before and after being mixed with Ca(OH) 2 in the presence of simulated pore solution, were studied in detail.
Journal ArticleDOI

The role of algae (Isochrysis galbana) enrichment on the bioaccumulation of benzo[a]pyrene and its effects on the blue mussel Mytilus edulis.

TL;DR: Algal concentration in the transfer of organic contaminants in a food chain has been studied using the ubiquitous model polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon benzo[a]pyrene as the contaminant, Isochrysis galbana as the phytoplankton food source, and the common mussel (Mytilus edulis) as the primary consumer.
Journal ArticleDOI

Evaluation of fire endurance of concrete slabs reinforced with fiber-reinforced polymer bars

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of a range of parameters on the fire performance of fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) reinforced concrete structural members has been investigated and a numerical model was applied to the analysis of FRP reinforced concrete slabs.
